This is an antique early "Victorian" hand-painted oil lamp. It has been in my family for at least four generations. There are 32 glass crystals hanging. The lamp has a ratcheting system, that allows it to be raised or lowered while leaving it attached to the ceiling. It is 36 inches long when the ratcheting system is at its shortest. The hand painted glass is about 15 inches across. All parts are original. It has never been converted - it is a gas lamp. This is the nicest one I've ever seen. Beautiful for a home or collection. There is no signature on the lamp that I can find - a local expert said it looked like a B & H (Bradley & Hubbard).
