This review is from: The Early Years (Audio CD)
Has it been almost Ten years since the Toilet Boys began? Well, at least since Miss Guy started from basically nothing but a DJ Job. I found the liner notes quite interesting, it's good to know the story of how they got their name now, rather than 20 years from now when they unleash an anthology. The Toilet Boys are a throwback band that has more in common with the New York Dolls and KISS than any current trend, the Bowie 'Diamond Dogs' cover is proof of their influence also perhaps. I love the Toilet Boys, this CD contains some raw underproduced , but heavy material. Shocked to discover that they were once quite Punk! Not sure I would be such a fan if they had stayed that way. I just got this CD a few day's ago, but listen to it every single minute I can. Some killer covers here including Poison's "Talk Dirty To Me" which fits right in with what the Toilet Boys are all about. I also like "Paul Stanley was a Lady", I think it's called. And a Motorhead cover also is included. But the best part is just the knowlege of the brief history of this still young and fierce band. You get the feeling they will have many more stories to tell as they continue down the rock n roll path!
