A fun toy,
This review is from: Earlyears Baby Farm Friends Bowling (Toy)
This is a nice little set of plush animal bowling pins and a soft ball with which to knock them down. We purchased it when our youngest child was an infant (he's now 16 months) and his brother was a toddler set on throwing everything he could get his hands on. The soft aspect of the toys drew us to them, as did the different sounds, which would appeal to the baby. As it turns out, neither of them have ever really used it for the intended purpose - the older child (now 2.5 years) prefers body bowling over using the ball! He sets up some of the pins and then jumps off of the couch into the middle of them. I have only two complaints about the toys. First of all, they attract animal hair and other floor muck very easily and are difficult to clean. We have two dogs, and the pins often seem to have more dog hair on them than the dogs! Secondly, they can be hard for the kids to stand up on the carpet. After a few tries on his own, the 2 year old gets frustrated and walks away or, if he's in a bad mood, starts tossing them all over the living room. Ultimately, this is probably a set better suited to a pet-free household or a no/low pile carpet floor.

Unstable Pins,

I hate to be the bad apple, but these pins were more frustrating for my 20-month-old than fun. It is very difficult to get the pins to stand up...even for an adult. And, if you have a pet, pet hair really sticks to the fabric they're made of.

I bought this for my second grandson's 1st birthday. The whole family loves it. (even the adults) The ball makes noise and the pins are soft enough that even if a pin battle breaks out it doesn't hurt.
Definitly a winner!

Love this toy! Animal "pins" are easy for little guys('n'gals) to set up, AND knock down. And furniture (and people) is (are) safe from overactive or poorly aimed throws. Great for building motor skills, and the "pins" are really cute. I also liked that they are numbered, as this gives game possibilities room to grow. Great for him (or her) to play alone or with you. We need more toys like this!!!HIGHLY RECOMENDED for little ones. (good price too)

So darn cute!,

My 19 month-old son got this as a gift from his great-grandmother. In the three weeks since it arrived at the house, he has been walking around with one or more of the pins under his arm. He takes them to bed with him and I can hear him over the monitor making kissing noises with them. Suffice it to say, he LOVES it. My 5 month-old is starting to love it as well (especially the cow). I would recommend it for any baby or toddler, especially an affectionate one.

My baby clearly isn't bowling yet, but is having a great time knocking these down with her hands and shaking them to hear the different sounds. If we set them up on the sofa across the room she will cruise/crawl to them in order to know them over and pick them up and shake them. The ball is a good size for her hands, and also makes noise. I suppose when she's older we'll eventually get to the bowling aspect.

When I saw this bowling set in the store I just had to buy it for my 14 month old daughter. We have had it for three days and she just got the hang of rolling the ball to knock over the pins. The ball and pins are so soft; I think this toy would be appropriate for a younger baby too. The pins are numbered so this toy will be great when she starts learning her numbers. I can see her using this toy for at least another year. I would recommend this toy for anyone with a child under 2.

Got this for my 20 month old son; I thought maybe its a lil' too late introducing this toy - Boy was I wrong - He loves to play with it and when I arrange the soft toy pins - he goes around saying 1, 2 :-)Recommend for kids under 24 months

My daughter loves these, she has played with them continuously even though we have lots of other toys. We gave them to her at 13 months and she is just now at 21 months starting to get the bowling. But since the beginning, she has loved the feel, sight, and sound of the animals, ball and the case. She just carries them around the house! Easy to clean too!

My 20 months old daughter loves them. She learned cause and effect with these animal pins. She realized that she can throw the ball and knock the pins down with out having to use her hands. She also learned all the numbers up to 6, and associated them with the animals. Her favorite color is blue, and her favorite animal is a dog. In this game the dog happens to be blue, and his number is 5. So, of course her favorite number is now, 5.
When she looks for the pins, she reffers to them as "Puppy Five". "Duck Six" is her second favorite, and so on so forth. Very cool! |
