I bought this toy for my daughter at a local toy store when she was about 7 months old, (i overpaid) i thought the balls would be too big for her to hold but they were not. she was able to really grip them... she would hold them and tilt them to see the bugs inside spin - and they do spin well. Now at 11 months this is still one of her favorite toys and now she loves filling up the bowl and dumping everything out then dragging the bowl around with her. If you want to buy a toy that makes them think, cause and effect, no noise and just fun to play with - this is the toy! I am ordering another as a gift from amazon - so much cheaper!
