Well I gave my husband a lot of slack for getting this toy. when I saw what he got I thought he had spent $20 (including shipping) on a glorified rattle. Well it came an it was an instant hit. My daughter played with this for 45 min. I am lucky if she play with a toy over 10 min. It is really neat that you can lock them together, or have them seperate. This toy is very durable, solid bright colors and will surely entertain you child. She is 7 months now and she still goes for this everyday. I think she will continue to enjoy it as she gets older. The price is a bit high if you figure in shipping. That is why i gave it a 4, but if I new how much my child would like this I would by it all over again.

I bought this toy b/c it looked interesting and the other reviews on it. My kids love it and play w/ it all the time. My kids range in age from 1-4 and they all play w/ it in different ways. It is a great toy for them to use their imagination and pretend w/ as well as good for the younger ones to bang w/ and learn their colors.

I first saw these shakers at Storytime at my library. My kids (ages 4 and 1) loved them, so I bought some for them and for my nephew's first birthday. They're a hit with everyone! They're very durable, make four distinctly different sounds, and are wonderful for musical exploration...or for just having fun making noise! :)

As a preschool teacher, I understand the importance of play and music. My children love these shakers! They each create unique sound and are fun to use individually, as well as all together. I purchased these for my one year-old's birthday and he loves them, however, my six year-old and four year-old love them just as much! Money well spent!

And we own a Lot! We received them as a Christmas gift for my oldest daughter, and three kids later, they are still being played with. All three kids enjoy playing with the shakers, and we plan on keeping them around for many more years to come. Highly recommended!

My 6 month old daughter likes this toy. She plays with it as separate pieces and likes the red triangle the best. She can easily maneuver it with both hands and uses it for teething right now. Early Years toys are great...durable, developmental, and grow with child.

I bought this for my 9 month old son and he loves it! We shake the toys and I sing him songs. I love this toy because I'm so tired of all of the other toys that he has which require batteries and make annoying noise. My son enjoys playing with each piece separately right now, but I'm sure as he gets older he'll like playing with them as one big musical instrument.

A few months ago we vacationed with friends and they had this product for their 11 month old. We got to "test-drive" it and our baby liked it so we bought it. We have had it for two months (our now 11 month old) and LOVE IT! She will "shake, shake, shake" it and give it to me to shake. We keep all the segments separate because it is lighter to shake and because she can choose which sound she wants. However, I love the design and how it locks back into a single unit. I don't know how educational this product is, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Overall we LOVE it and always travel with at least one segment (usually the maraca because it is the quietest).

The test of a toy is if the child loves it. This toy was perfect.

I buy from amazon probably few times a week and never wrote a review....but felt like I have to on this one. I first saw this toy in a very expensive store and loved it, so I ordered from Amazon for half the price. This is a LIFE SAVER. We got it when my son was 2 months and he loved the sound from all 4 pieces. We took it with us on the plane (11 hour flight) and the sound from the orange piece (with little balls inside) just worked wonders - calmed him down in 2 minutes. The orange piece is our car ride magic - whenever he cries I take it out and in 10 seconds he is smiling. He is now playing with all 4 pieces by himself and it is a great toy to explore different sounds. The toy is very well made - it's been through 4 long flights and numerous long car rides and still looks like almost new. It is easy to grab with little hands - my 6 months old can easily hold it. My 4 year old loves it too and uses to play with her little brother. I am in love with this item -what a great idea - colorful, functional, educational and fun. And is really made for any age. My 4 year old uses it for her dance and music home shows:)
