These arthouse-punk-ska rockers from Prague deliver the goods..This band sounds like a mix of Mr. Bungle, The Residents and Frank Zappa. This album features an American producer, the same one responsible for the now defunct band Idiot Flesh. This one isn't for everyone, but definately a great album is you love agressive, creative music and don't mind that it is sung in Czech. I caught them live severals time in San Francisco and once in Prague. They put on an outstanding show live. Highly recommended!

Good enough to stop making bad "Czech" puns,

The water swirlsThe bottom is wounded And nothing's like it was before And here UJD's most recent album is tamer than their earlier ones -- lowering it from a 5 to a 4 for me, but certainly making it more accessible to "beginners" than the "festivals of discord" that reigned on the first albums. Another plus is that on this album, the band invited guests to re-broaden its lineup: superbly-used *rock* windwoods, brass and female voices. Wanek's texts are still superb, and I believe there are (less than superb, but good enough) translations of the texts in the Skoda Records edition. Also, the Cowboy Song begins in English.

Brilliant. Although it might not seem as deep as other UJD albums, it is. Form the exciting Bare Feet, to the meloncholy Silence, this album is all it should be and more. Its truthful to the world, and describes everything, a masterpiece of metal mixed with prog rock. Brilliant.
