Book Description

The year is 2190. The human race is thriving, but only after it looked to the stars in search of a replacement for earth’s depleted fossil fuels. Humans found an energy source, a mineral called elirium, in a neighboring star system, and in doing so, discovered they were not alone in the universe. While mining the mineral, mankind made first contact with the Khutarri, a humanoid alien race who also depend on elirium to survive. Both species staked their claim on the planets that house the indispensable substance, which has kept them on the brink of intergalactic war for a decade. Neither humans nor the Khutarri want the fight to extend to their home worlds, but each will do whatever it takes to avoid extinction. In the future, elirium is power. Elirium means survival.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good first entry June 10, 2014
By Dyalon
This is a good first entry into what I hope will be a long, and interesting series. The art style has a "film noir" type vibe.. gritty, emotional, thought provoking. The story, better than the artwork.. the government conspiracies, twists and politics will instantly grab you and remind you of the times we're now living in. Where the needs and greater good of the many are often tossed aside for the wants and power grabs of the few. Raymond Fields has a vision for our future, of what mankind can become. Its a must read for any sci-fi fan. Get on this ride early.. it promises to be entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review for Earth Alliance June 8, 2014
It is the year 2190. War is coming and it is over Elirium. The Khutarri have declared war on Earth.
It is surprising in one way and in one way not to see the governments of the world coming together in war. It is something they do not do for peace but for war yes. The reasons behind this move are not fully what you think. There is more to it than survival.
The story also gets a more personal down to earth feeling when Cadet Ryan joins the academy. He has a certain attitude that is sure to cause friction and other factors will contribute as well.
The Russian ships set against a space background are a thing of beauty. The illustration lets you know they are sleek, powerful ships. The colors on this are gorgeously done.
This is the beginning of what promises to be a epic space saga of war and politics as well as family dynamics.
