This review is from: Earth Blood 1 (Audio CD)
Those in the know will already realize that "James Axler" is nothing more than a pseudonym used by the Gold Eagle Publishing company. The actual author of "Earth Blood" and the two other books that fill out the rest of this awesome trilogy is a man by the name of Laurence James.

Graphic Audio has once again hit pay-dirt with their sterling adaptation of this utterly engrossing mini-series. "Earth Blood" opens in the year 2040 with the crew of the Starship Aquila, fresh off a deep space mission and awakening from computer-induced hyper-sleep. They crash-land upon Earth to find it besieged by a mysterious plant-virus, the "Earth Blood" of the title, that has decimated the world's food supply, starving millions, and reducing society to savage animal compulsions. It soon falls upon Captain Jim Hilton to instill the proper fortitude in what remains of his crew and, in going their separate ways, they set upon the task of reuniting with their families and piecing together the puzzle that will spell out their future survival.

I continue to be absolutely amazed by the talent and dedication Graphic Audio brings to their productions. This story, especially, was a major find for me. I was positively enthralled from beginning to end. It's the perfect lead in to the remaining two chapters, "Deep Trek" and "Aurora Quest." It's a saga that combines elements from Stephen King's "The Stand" and another one of Axler's post-apocalyptic series, "Deathlands," and it's all woven together with the utmost perfection. With the top-notch acting, narration, and other well-established elements of professionalism Graphic Audio has long been recognized for, the listener is guaranteed a landmark experience. I listened to the entire five hours of this specific story in one sitting, if that tells you anything. It's just that good and, as with most of this company's other releases, I am recommending it to everybody I personally know!

Well worth the purchase, any way you look at it.
