Beautiful and very rich music,

This is a beautifully crafted CD - like an intricate Pink Floyd album, the songs weave together into an amazing masterpiece. The tale of Earth Blue is so loving and perfect .. incredible atmospheric music - at times haunting and moving. Highly recommended.

Best Deuter Yet,

This album is about motion and is a further development of his music from Sea & Silence. It is one of my favorite "being" music CD's. My collection includes a lot of Enya, Sarah Brightman, "fairy music" by Gary Stadler and Hemi Sync Metamusic (the one you shouldn't listen to while driving).

Excellent New Age Music,
By
This review is from: Earth Blue (Audio CD)
I have six of Deuters albums and would like to get more. I'm not sure which is my favorite, but I like this one very much.
Why don't I give it five stars? Deuter's music is clearly deeply felt and tastefully composed and produced. It is not vapid or soulless. It is not, however, melodically rich or technically excellent in the sense that Miles Davis is a technically excellent trumpet player or in the sense that Bob Dylan writes excellent lyrics. Deuter's music is deeply relaxing and deeply spiritual. Deuter plays a wide range of often quite esoteric instruments. He plays them well, but perhaps intentionally never impresses the user with his technical proficiency. His compositions are sometimes very moving and deeply felt, but they tend to be a bit stark and usually only hint at a melody. Unlike some new age productions, Deuter's music is never cloying, and it is never syrupy sweet. I don't connect with this music emotionally as I do with George Winston's music, and I'm not awed by its technical proficiency as I am with Alex de Grassi's music. I listen to this music when I am working, or when I want to create a deeply relaxed atmosphere. I generally treat it as background music, though if I am feeling particularly centered I find it very rewarding to turn off the lights and listen intently to this music. In those cases it puts me in a deep meditative state. In my opinion artists like Yanni or David Arkenstone are sometimes prone to serious lapses in taste. If you like their music, then you might find this music a bit bland. If you think of them as being a bit overdone, perhaps a bit pompous or over-produced, then you might be drawn to the simplicity and tasteful arrangements on this album. Deuter strikes me as deeply spiritual, intelligent and committed. I'm sure he makes this music because he believes in it, and he is an excellent craftsman. I feel that the music is a natural expression of his beliefs. Though I'm sure he wants to earn a living, I never suspect him of creating music just to make money. His music seems like a natural extension of a man with a great spiritual program and an excellent set of priorities. I listen to this and other Deuter albums quite often. This is not one of my favorite albums and I don't rate Deuter as one of my favorite artists. But I like his music a lot, and I'm glad I have it as part of my collection. If you want deeply spiritual, deeply relaxing, new age music then you won't go wrong with this or many other of Deuter's excellent CDs.

Excellent new work from Deuter...I have virtually every CD by Deuter and have added this one to my must listen category whenever I drive...as always his work soothes and rests the mind and helps me regain spiritual balance. I was particularly impressed by the use of violin with flageolet.

I can't decide which of these CDs I like better: Deuter's Wind & Mountain or Deuter's Earth Blue. When I was pregnant, I was looking for relaxing music to labor to and I found Deuter's music at Amazon.com. I am SOOOOO glad that I found his music, because now whenever I hear those soothing sounds I am immediately taken back to those precious first days with my beautiful daughter. We played these CDs non-stop the following days in the hospital while I recovered and when the doctor came in the room, he said to me, "This is the most relaxing hospital room I've ever been in. I don't want to leave!"
Lately I've taken to playing them in the car. I've found them to be a wonderful way to have an enjoyable relaxing trip. What a great way to fight stressful TRAFFIC! I can't recommend these CDs enough. I'm on Amazon tonight looking for more to add to my "Wish List."

Nice background music - not more,
This review is from: Earth Blue (MP3 Download)
The word is *monotonous*. There is no real melody or significant sound variation. The entire set of tracks is uneventful (although somewhat better than other Deuter's releases), and individual tracks are hardly different from each other.
Concepts of "relaxation" and "meditation" shouldn't be excuses for writing uninspired and bland soundtracks. Frankly, these pieces didn't require excessive amounts of creativity. If you are only looking for some background sound to play in your yoga studio, this is the ticket. However, if you want actual music that's also soothing and relaxing, take a look at Amethystium, Enya or Himekami.

As a Deuter addict I feel this is one of his best. A slightly disappointing opening track gives away to the normal sounds of this transcendent music.
