quite elementary and shallow, March 31, 2010
This review is from: Earth Energies: A Quest for the Hidden Power of the Planet (Paperback)
i was initially excited when i read the table of contents. however, after reading the book i was surprised to see the manner in which serge king addresses each subject with such vast amounts of generalitiies . Most of the chapters he writes in a way that glosses over and through the subject without really being very specific. An example would be in chapter five on pyramids. he mentions that the great pyramid's dimensions are related to "Pi" but doesn't even mention the simple fact that the shape of the pyramid is related to the circle (and hence the earth) by showing how the formula for the circumfrance of a cirlce is the same formula for determining the length of the total base length of the pyramid (i.e Pi equals the four base lengths divided by 2 times the height of the pyramid). other important and relatively simple ideas about what makes the giza pyramids so powerful are also glossed over. he also states that the ratio of sides to base (which determine the shape) does not "matter". in the middle of the chapter on orgone and wilhelm reich, he starts talking about sharpening razor blades with his "manobox". in the chapter on geomancy he states "periods of seasonal change and power times are more symbolic than natural. March 21 at 3:10 pm is the exact moment when the sun is equidistant in the highest and lowest positions and day and night are equal." i'm not sure what he means by symbolic but the equinoxes and solstices are powerful portals of change. Also the spring equinox is based on a natural astrological occurence that changes each year. this year (2010) it was at 6:32 EST march 20th. a gross and erroneous generality. i dont know how this book got published, with it being so elementary and shallow in how it deals with most of the subjects. i would recommend finding other books if you are interested in this subject or any of the subjects he talks about.

Good book exploring various earth energies, June 13, 2000
This review is from: Earth Energies: A Quest for the Hidden Power of the Planet (Paperback)
Serge Kihili King has done a yeoman's work in exploring various earth energies as postulated by numerous people. Mesmer, Reichenbach, and Wilhelm Reich to name only three. Mr King also explores Pyramid power, Radionics, Vivaxis, and Geomancy. I only have one minor nitpick. Mr. King should have researched his information about Ch'i (QI) more in depth. On page 3 Mr King postulates two energies (Li and Ch'I). In Qigong (sometimes spelled Chi gong, Chi Gung, and Chi Kung as well) There are three energies and none of them are called Li. Jing: This is the original essence you inherit from your parents. Ch'i: You get this from the air your breathe, food you eat, liquids you drink, and in addition you can tap into an infinite amout of external Qi from your surroundings. Shen: This is your spirit or soul. If you have questions or comments. E-Mail me. Two Bears. Wah doh Ogedoda

Great review of unseen natural forces, July 31, 2008
This review is from: Earth Energies: A Quest for the Hidden Power of the Planet (Paperback)
Serge Kahili King is a Hawaiian Shaman, author of several books on HUNA, but he also holds a doctorate in psychology. He has lived in Africa and studied with local master shamans.
In this book, he explores the hidden powers of the earth.
Chapters include: Clues from the Ancients, The Vril of Mesmer, The Odic Force and Reichenbach, Wilhelm Reich and Orgone Energy, The Power behind Pyramidology, Radionics, Psychotronics, Vivaxis, Geomancy, Extra Energy, Future Prospects.
The book is well written and researched, however some energies are omitted: Serge King does mention prana and chi but he does not elaborate; maybe he is not a specialist of Asia.
