They use the preservative Methylisothiazolinone:

"The biggest concern with this ingredient came to light when researchers conducted two recent laboratory studies on rat brain cells, and found that MIT caused damage to those cells. The researchers stated, “a brief exposure to methylisothiazolinone, a widely used industrial and household biocide, is highly toxic to cultured neurons….” The scientists went on to state that these toxic effects had been reported previously, and because of their widespread use, the consequences of chronic human exposure need to be evaluated. What was most concerning about this study was that the exposure was only 10 minutes long."

I'm really sad that I'm going to have to drain all the bottles. I'm now just going to make my own crappy soap at home. Clean dishes are not worth brain damage.

Being chemically sensitive, I have found this dish soap to be excellent. Not only is it a natural product, it does the job.

At first I was disappointed by Dishmate dishwashing liquid's ingredient safety ratings on the Environmental Working Group's website. However, it does a great job of cleaning our dishware and pots and pans so the solution is to wear rubber gloves while washing dishes. If it were easy to have a safe dishwashing liquid that did a great job of cleaning, more options would likely be on the market. Since it's hard to have both in one product, wearing gloves is an easy and practical solution. Thank you, Earth Friendly Products!

We used to use Dishmate soap to wash our hands, too - but now we keep a bottle of Keys Care Galleyon Antibacterial Spearmint Soap next to the Dishmate. It's win-win.

This dish washing liquid is wonderful! It really is odor-free, it has no color, and it is not irritating to my sensitive allergy-prone skin. It actually washes dishes, too, and it doesn't leave a soap smell or film on them. Plus, because it's an Earth Friendly Product, it is kinder and gentler to our environment.

I find that I can't leave the dishes to soak and expect to go back to that sink full of suds, but that's okay because the pluses far outweigh that little negative.

The price through Amazon is fantastic, too, and they were delivered right to my door.

Unfort. Within minutes of using this product I had a SEVERE allergic reaction to this
Product apparently from the Methylisothiazolinone in this product. (Preservative) I had high hopes as it seems very "clean" to bad not clean enough ... I was covered in a horrid angry red burning rash and my throat eyes and ears were extremely irritated I was super scared. Now that im aware of this
Allergy and how dangerous this preservative really is .... I of course will take extra care when purchasing in the future

I'm not sure what the difference between the Proline product and the regular product is, if there is a difference. The bottle pictured looks the same. Anyway, I started using Dishmate Free & Clear a while ago when searching for a fragrance free dish soap. While this product is indeed fragrance free, its cleaning power is lacking. I need more of this product when washing dishes that I do with other dish soaps, and it just doesn't seem to get my dishes very clean. There's usually some greasy residue or film, or sometimes bits of food, still left on the dishes. I've since discovered Ecover Zero dishwashing liquid and that seems to have better, more concentrated cleaning power while still being fragrance free.

Do your research on this product! It is NOT a safe product to use therefore I will not purchase anything by this brand. This is a very deceitful company! I thought is was very odd that they didn't show a list of ingredients therefore I went to the company site and looked at the specs. It contains 2 ingredients that are known to be toxic so you might as well go for Ivory or some other cheaper brand.

It is very difficult to find unscented dish soap. For those of us who have sensitive skin or allergies to heavy fragrances this is a god send. I have to use more of this product than regular commercial brands, but much prefer this. Keep up the good work!
