I clean homes for a living and these are a great tool to have!,

Skoy is like a sponge and microfiber cloth rolled into one. I like that I can use them on the counter tops and also to shine up the faucets and get spots off the mirror in the bathroom. They are very absorbent - a favorite use for that feature is wiping up the stove top or inside the microwave after giving them a good scrub with one of those green scrub pads + dish soap. Also since Skoy is not abrasive it's good choice for hand washing easily scratched plastic cups. These are a pleasure to use both in my home and the homes I clean professionally. I'm hooked!

Bought these on the recommendation from Cooks Illustrated and typically they are spot on with everything. I thought I could replace my kitchen sponges with these but that is not the case. They are great for wiping counters, cleaning bathrooms, etc but they are not good at scrubbing pots and pans. They are a really good size for general cleaning (not to big and not too small).

Once I used this cleaning cloth, I was hooked. I love this cloth. It is eco-friendly, and it is so much better than a sponge. It also saves me money, as I don't have to use as many paper towels. Sponges get really disgusting after a while, but Skoy cloths seem to last for weeks without ever smelling bad. You just have to microwave them to kill the germs, and then you are all set. Love, love, love them!!!

Superb cleaners, bacteria-free, eco-sensitive and durable,

CLEANINGI've been a Skoy loyalist since I purchased my first four-pack at a local "green store" two years ago. Speaking strictly about their ability to clean counters, tables, sinks and stainless steel appliances, they surpass paper towels and sponges. Unlike paper towels, they don't shred and you only need one. Unlike sponges, they don't leave streaks. Best of all, I find I can clean most counter and table messes (and we have quite a few with a toddler) with just water--no chemical cleaners needed. After I finish doing the dishes, I give the stainless steel sink a quick once-over with the Skoy and it's spotless and dry. BACTERIA-FREE Now lets talk about the "bacteria-free" part I mentioned in my headline. Normal sponges are bacteria magnets because they never fully dry. In fact, that's exactly what they grow bacteria on in laboratories--sponges. The Skoy always dries over night, so bacteria can't thrive. Even better, you can soak your Skoy and microwave it for a minute and kill 100% of the bacteria living on it. ECO-SENSITIVE Add to it that the cloths are made with incredible environmental sensitivity and you've got a whole lot of reasons to add them to your arsenal of cleaning supplies. DURABLE As for the negative review claiming they fell apart in the washing machine, I still have my original two-year-old cloths and they've been washed easily 50 times and they haven't shredded--just dried up a bit and a bit less absorbent. I SOUND LIKE AN AD Gosh, I really do. I swear I'm just a happy customer. You can check out my other reviews and see I'm not always so delighted. But...Skoy rocks.

when i bought these on amazon, i was unclear whether they were semi-disposable or permanent wash cloths. i had long since given up on smelly disposable sponges, but i found that cotton wash cloths used in the kitchen didn't dry quickly enough and became too smelly. these were my "compromise."imagine an organic disposable sponge, but with a larger surface area and sliced very very thin. i bought two packages and they've sustained my kitchen (family of four) for a full year. granted, the colors are faded and the cloths are stained, but they do a great job at wiping surfaces and after 2-3 days i just throw them in the washer to be laundered with the next load. ideally i pull them out to air-dry, but if they get thrown into the dryer, no harm done. it's great to have a stack of what are basically sponges in my drawer, smelling laundry fresh. two packs x family of four x a full year (and going) = GREAT value.

As I've tried to become more environmentally responsible, I've made a lot of good changes but haven't been able to kick my paper towel habit. Skoy cloths are helping, though. I use them for wiping the counters and cleaning windows.I wish the cloths were a little bigger. Also, they're very stiff when dry (almost like cardboard), so drying your hands on them is awkward. On the plus side, I'm very impressed with how they've held up in the washing machine. While I still grab a paper towel for anything "yucky," Skoy cloths are definitely helping me reduce my paper towel waste.

This is my absolutely favorite kitchen cloth and I would be completely lost without it. It's environmental friendliness is a great bonus to a great cloth. Easy to use, easy to clean and looks good in my kitchen too. I love the way it is super absorbent and yet can still pick up crumbs. It is also just the right size and doesn't take up a huge amount of space on my sink. Fantastic product.

excellent alternative,
This review is from: Earth Friendly Skoy cloth (multi-pack) (Kitchen)
I stumbled upon the Skoy cloth while researching earth and animal friendly cleaning products. I had used recycled paper towels, thinking I was doing a good thing, and then found statistics on how many paper towels are in our landfills and it shocked me. Obviously I hadn't put as much thought into the whole idea as I should have. Anyhow, when I heard about the Skoy Cloth, I bought a 4 pack right away, hoping this would really be as useful as it sounded. And it really is. I use these in the kitchen to wipe up the spills i normally would grab a paper towel for, and it works amazingly well. It also works great for drying the shower doors to keep them clean, or with a cleaner to clean the glass tops on our end tables and the windows and mirrors. Between these cloths and cloth napkins, our use of paper towels has almost been eliminated. The only thing they are used for these days is to clean up the mess made when a cat leaves a fur ball on the carpet. I can't bring myself to use a cloth for that yet... but I'm working up to it. :-)

save money on paper towels!,

I was looking for a way to cut back on waste in my house and save space in my cabinets and the Skoy cloth lets me do both! I use it daily to wipe the counters and clean mirrors. Each night I put it in the dishwasher. I've been using the same cloth for a month and it is still going strong! It is a little smaller than I expected but still has not faced a job it couldn't handle any less than a paper towel. So goodbye paper towels.
