I am a huge fan of the tribal/ethno/ambient genre, and this is the cream of the crop. A completely entrancing mix of primitive ethnic instrumentation (didgeridoos, frame drums, even clay pots) with drifting electronic soundworlds.

The sounds on this CD will melt your brain. If that sounds like a good thing to you - it does to me - then by all means buy it. It's one of the greatest recordings in the "contemporary instrumental" genre, a beautifully cut jewel laying in a field of boring stones. I would love to hear more from this trio.

5.0 out of 5 stars a lil scary, eerie, but always excellent, August 8, 2011
This review is from: Earth Island (Audio CD)
I first heard the song "Earth Island" last night while I was painting, at around 2am through the soundscapes music channel on my cable. I actually got a lil scared when i first heard the beginning parts of it, and i was gonna change to a diff music channel, until i looked up and saw it had Steve Roach on the track - whom I've always been a huge fan of. Seeing his name, i decided to listen to the whole track, and I'm glad I did, cuz soon as it got to the tribal parts of it, i was loving it. I love all his stuff. I've never heard of Jorge Reyes before, but I am definitely interested in picking up this cd asap. I def want to hear more, and I'm not scared anymore, lol.

Def for you if you are a fan of Steve Roach, Lycia, Dave Gordon, or Buddha Lounge comps.
