Good for beginners sort of,

This review is from: Earth Magic, revised edition (Paperback)
The book is very organized and informative sometimes it grazes the structure of typical organized religion but it is a good stepping stone for beginners. I find it's a good book if you want to learn how to practice but as for the history of wicca it only delves in a little.

This is a phenomenal book, even if you don't see eye to eye with Marion Weinstein on every topic discussed. I highly recommend this book to ANYONE who is new to the study of Witchcraft, as well as those who are seasoned Witches. I believe that this book should be in the home of every Witch. Marion Weinstein is an "old school" Witch from before Wicca and Paganism were widely accepted in society, so you're getting some very straight forward stuff in this book. It's a small book, but there's absolutely no padding in this book. It's all info, with very little in the way of anecdotes and the like. It's a heavy read because she goes into so many topics, but each chapter leaves you hungry for more. She talks about Words of Power, Deity Alignments, covens, familiars, Magick, spirit communication and much more. If you happen to find this book priced below $30, snatch it ASAP! I searched for a copy of this book for a very long time, but I could never find one within my price range (at the time, I couldn't find one that was below $40, used and in "Acceptable" condition!), and I finally managed to snag a copy for around $20 a few months ago. Having read it, I would probably pay a lot more for it, now, if I didn't have a copy.
And just so you know, this book is sort of a sequel to Positive Magic, and I recommend that you read it before Earth Magic.

The title of this book is very misleading. It has very little to do with the Earth at all. I was very disappointed because I was expecting it to focus more on Mother Earth. If you are looking for a book on Mother Earth and nature, this probably isn't the book for you.

Wonderfully simple and insightful. A wonderful 2d step in learning about magic. For use by anyone not only those interested in the craft of magic. Read her first book Positive Magic: Occult Self-Help or Positive Magic, Revised Edition first so that you fully understand the concepts in this book. Thank you Marion! Blessed Be!

Just beginning my research in Wicca/witchcraft, so I appreciate the information she shared. The prose throughout the book could use some editing as much of it was repetitive, meandering, talking in circles before she got to her point. The result was that I skipped a lot of the prose just looking for the substance.
