5.0 out of 5 stars Earth Music 2 - Review
Earth Music 2 is as close to Junior Vasquez' current club residency, Earth, as you could possibly get, without actually being there of course. I felt that Earth Music 1 was one of the best compilations that Junior has put out, skewing the formula of a harder CD1 followed by a more vocal CD2 that Junior had favored in previous releases. 3.0 out of 5 stars The master of creative mixing falls a bit flat.
First, I'd like to just say that I love J.Vasquez. However, I feel I must be honest here in reviewing this CD I bought through one of Amazon's vendors. The tracks that started this whole creative-mixed experience bringing the mood down are: song #2. While song #1 builds the mood of this CD, song #2 brings the mood down. This song #2 has some of that old-fashioned...

5.0 out of 5 stars Earth Music 2 - Review, November 13, 2002

Earth Music 2 is as close to Junior Vasquez' current club residency, Earth, as you could possibly get, without actually being there of course. I felt that Earth Music 1 was one of the best compilations that Junior has put out, skewing the formula of a harder CD1 followed by a more vocal CD2 that Junior had favored in previous releases. To me, EM1 was Junior cramming a whole day at Earth on to one CD, and doing so successfully. With Earth Music 2 it is as if you entered into Earth at noon on a Sunday, and stayed for 74 minutes. Here, instead of giving you view of the whole picture, Junior is serving up just a small piece of what makes Earth a great club.

EM2 is definitely harder than EM1, which might scare some fans off. However, it is not an all dub/instrumental CD. All the tracks have some sort of vocals, save one. Although there are no big "diva anthems", there is more than enough to keep the fans of vocals satisfied. What EM2 showcases very well are Junior's DJ mixing skills. EM2 is the most accurate representation of Junior's live mixing I have heard to date. At times it's very smooth, and other times Junior takes different sounds, and layers them with such skills, that what you think might sound horrible ends up exciting you more than you thought possible.

I believe that Earth Music 2 is one of the best CDs Junior has released, and the one that really captures the feeling of him live. I highly recommend this to every Junior fan, and anyone who is the least bit curious to hear the sound of Earth.

If Earth 1 wasn't enough for Junior's awesomeness this year, Earth 2 makes this the best year in a hard-house fan's life. This addition to the series is utterly amazing in how seamlessly it puts you into the same trance Junior evokes during his live sets. As the blurb in the CD says- the tampering is minimal- the mixes are real, and the enjoyment is through the roof. Junior is the Originator and remains Unsurpassed as the ultimate House DJ. This CD is a MUST HAVE for the discriminating hard house fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars club or disco keeps me young, June 29, 2006
This review is from: Earth Music 2 (Audio CD)
at 59 years of age one would think that dancing to club or disco has passed.. NOT if your listening to junior vasquez*s earth music 2. he knows how to weave and twist the hynotic beats of disco music in earth 2 keeping you dancing untill the sun has come up.. in a way junior takes several many unrelated stories and strings them together into a great novel of sound. he knows which numbers to mix ... ... great cd to listen to over and over

5.0 out of 5 stars more exclusive remixes and long versions..., May 26, 2005
This review is from: Earth Music 2 (Audio CD)
First, get past the fact that there's yet another take on "you gotta believe in something, why not believe in me" starting off this disc. Ugh. If any DJ thinks that sample never gets old, they're wrong. Please, no more. Anyway, what follows is pure Junior peak hour bliss, diva anthems, classic junior remix sounds, some exclusive mixes, and a couple of long versions. Track times are:

1. you gotta believe (8:09)
2. I got something (4:41)
3. empires(9:13)
4. Irresistible (5:26
5. That Look (6:12)
6. Some Lovin (4:45)
7. Show Me (6:59)
8. Andante (1:02)
9. Weep (4:23)
10. Sorrow (6:09)
11. You Can Get Over (6:55)
12. Burden (8:11)

5.0 out of 5 stars Junior Vasquez is the man, June 14, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Earth Music 2 (Audio CD)
NO one is better then Junior no one. Everyone is hating his sound and that his mixes are too long. Well stick to Britney if you can't handle dark tribal club mixes. I think that his mixes are always good and danceable. He has been around for so long so somebody must like him. I'm sorry if this upset anyone but I love that man so damm much. I have many of his mixes, not one I don't like. God bless you Junior,oh and he's like 60 and so damm hot. You don't have to like him just don't speak ill of him. The album is of couse the best. It can't not get better then this folks. If you like him or this kind of music please buy and you will be happy you did. So now go,no wait run to the store and buy this now.

3.0 out of 5 stars The master of creative mixing falls a bit flat., April 20, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Earth Music 2 (Audio CD)
First, I'd like to just say that I love J.Vasquez. However, I feel I must be honest here in reviewing this CD I bought through one of Amazon's vendors. The tracks that started this whole creative-mixed experience bringing the mood down are: song #2. While song #1 builds the mood of this CD, song #2 brings the mood down. This song #2 has some of that old-fashioned record-scratching which I thought was left back in the mid 80's. Anyway, JV could've done better. After all he has all the tools to make any mix sound creative. This does not even compare to the TWILO CD. Then song #8 has a slight pause. I'm not sure if this was intentional but it (again) ruined the song. Then towards the end of the CD the volume of recording goes down as if the CD was defective (maybe it was) then the volume comes back but still doesn't come back as a clean recording from that point. My opinion about mixed CDs in general is that DJs could really do a better job. They have so many ways to make mixed CDs sound so crisp. For the money we all pay for mixed CDs these days, I think DJs could give us better recordings. So, if you're looking for a clean J.Vasquez mixed recording try the TWILO CD. Now, that's creative and keeps you dancing and best of all keeps you wanting more music to dance to. This JVasquez does mix like no other DJ that I've heard to date. I just found this particular CD I'm rating to fall flat because of songs: 2, 8, 10, 11 and ending of CD. I was lucky that didn't pay full price for this CD. Also, I'd like to recommend the "Forever Cher: Dark Lady" This is a remixed CD of Cher's songs and the songs are not by Cher herself but they sound just like they were sung by the Diva herself.
