5.0 out of 5 stars Best non-stick pans for the money!
Earth pans are the best pans I have ever used and even better is that they are a natural product that does not out gas into your food. I have been using Earth Pans for several months now and will never go back to other non-stick pans. I recommend using wooden or silicone utensils as with all nonstick pans. Most of the time I wash my pans in the dishwasher with no problem...

If you care about what you take into your body and you want non-stick these pans are the way to go and the cost is affordable as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great concept poorly executed, BOO FARBERWARE!, June 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Unlike a lot of people, I don't have any issue with the look of this cookware. Yes, it's a little "sparkly" but not overly so - you can't see it unless you're really looking at it - and I don't care if the inside is the same color as the outside, I think that's kind of cool...my issue is with EVERYTHING else.

I bought this cookware because of the less hazardous, POFA, PTFE-free nonstick coating. I'm a personal chef with very health-conscious clents. The cookware was babied from the second it came out of the box, per manufacturer's guidelines, and this is what I've found:

The non-stick coating is as expected. For a few weeks. Even with careful washing, drying and treatment, with less than 2 months of use the non-stick properties start to wane and stuff starts to stick, even with a little oil in the pan (scrambled eggs never really turn out great in these pans, not sure why but it's not me or the eggs - it happened with the brand new pan that replaced the clearly defective pan I got). OK, I was willing to sacrifice a little non-stickiness for the sake of the less dangerous coating. Then, while hand washing the 10" pan I noticed a big chip of paint gone from the outside bottom of the pan.

I called the manufacturer (Farberware) who said at first that I was SOL because it was longer than their warranty period and that I would have to go through Amazon anyway. VERY unhelpful though, of course, apologetic. Called Amazon, who at first referred me back to Farberware. When I explained what already happened, they very graciously agreed to make an exception and replace the piece but I needed a transaction number from Farberware to show I had tried to resolve it with them first. Called Farberware back for the number, who at this point very "generously" - and with a completely different customer service "story" this time said if I emailed them a picture of the defect, they "might consider" something, though not expressly guaranteeing anything, and if they deigned to replace the piece based on some secret, arbitrary process, would not say if it would even be the same product or the same color. Once I called Amazon with the transaction number, they held up their end of the deal and I had a replacement quickly. THANK YOU AMAZON! Now I noticed a pant chip missing from the bottom of the deep saute pan. <sigh>

BOTTOM LINE: DON'T BUY THIS COOKWARE, IT'S ESSENTIALLY JUNK AND NOT DURABLE AT ALL, EVEN IF YOU DO EVERYTHING RIGHT. I know you get what you pay for, and it IS relatively inexpensive, but less than 2 months for cookware is ridiculous and Farberware's response was completely unacceptable. Kudos to Amazon for stepping up. If you want safe non-stick, buy the expensive ceramic pans one piece at a time if you have to. That's how I will replace this waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars GR8! PAN!!!!, June 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Well I was hoping I could give a review on this product. Here goes:
It was received in a very timely manner! I use this pan almost every day. Seems to be of a better quality than the teflon non stick options out there. I love that it does NOT contain the harmful stuff thats in teflon, dupont, etc. Nice size, color and love the handle too, its silicone. Its very easy to handle and has a nice feel to it!
I L-O-V-E it!!!!!!!! I believe the price was a fair price for such good quality! Seems to be easier cleanup than other pans...SO GLAD I made the purchase. I only hope they come out with more items-like perhaps a 3 or 4 or 5 qt. sauce pot. I dont remember seeing any. Perhaps sometime in the near future; If and when they do, and I IF I can afford more of these "Earth Pans-I would definitely buy more!!!!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, January 11, 2011

This worked very well at first but quickly lost its non stick properties, even though I followed the use and care instructions completely. Do not waste your money on this product. My tried and true cast iron skillet works much better for everyday use, and I use a conventional nonstick crepe pan for particularly delicate items.

1.0 out of 5 stars Non stick seems good but too thin, October 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The skillet non stick coating works well. Clean up is simple. The skillet is however very thin on the bottom and without any sort of heat insulator/spreader. The very thin skillet transfers heat from the burner in localized areas of the skillet instead of heating the entire bottom. Tough to cook food without burning it. Reminds me of a cheap thin non stick skillet from a dollar store. Would not purchase again.

Have used it for a month. It gives a slightly different experience than classically coated non-stick. It seems harder. Don't notice any difference in the final outcome. And, so far, it is trivial to clean. I just wipe it clean with a paper towel. Most heavily used non-stick pans work well for about a year. We'll see with this one. And the price was terrific.

3.0 out of 5 stars Non-stick did not last, December 9, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
At first I really liked this pan, especially the fact that it is healthier than teflon.
It worked well for about 2 months and then everything started to stick!. I use it almost every day, but did not abuse it. I took care of it as I would any Non-stick pan, it just did not hold up. Mine is not flaking as others have mentioned. I would not buy one again and would not recommend this product either.

2.0 out of 5 stars RIP: sent to sticky pan heaven after 4.5 months, July 15, 2010

This review is from: Earth Pan II Nonstick 10-Inch Skillet, Espresso (Kitchen)
Bought in February 2010, loved the color, weight and ease of use. We were cooking eggs or chicken almost every day in 2 of these pans. Tremendous for 4 months but then both started sticking despite tender washing and cooking care. (did not put in dishwasher) During month 4 food wouldn't get off pan with long soak or gentle pad. We then sent earth pan to pan heaven... and as we still wanted a "safe" pan, went out and bought an iron skillet.
