4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but prone to need repairs
I love the brush, and I like the wood construction overall, but there is a significant flaw. The second day I had this I dropped it in the shower and the head came off! It didn't break; the loofa is glued to a wood panel that has a slightly tapered slot carved into the top, this mates with the handle, and the two pieces appear to be glued together... but very poorly...

2.0 out of 5 stars Look Elsewhere for a Back Brush
Although I received the item real fast, it was a BIG disappointment. The handle came off as I took it out of the package. Others had warned about this so this was not a huge surprise, although I had to repair it before I even got a chance to use it. Repair was easy; just a matter of sanding off the inferior glue that is used to attach the handle, and using a proper wood...

I love the brush, and I like the wood construction overall, but there is a significant flaw. The second day I had this I dropped it in the shower and the head came off! It didn't break; the loofa is glued to a wood panel that has a slightly tapered slot carved into the top, this mates with the handle, and the two pieces appear to be glued together... but very poorly. Since nothing actually broke I was able to shove the handle back into the channel and with a little force it stayed in fairly well. It has since come apart a couple times, and I just force it back together. Eventually I will drill a hole through the handle and head, drip some glue in the hole and the head' channel, tap a dowel in and likely never worry about it coming apart again. Note that the glue holding the loofa to the head seems very different, and VERY sturdy, so no problems there.

I do recommend this, but I would only give it as a gift if I did the extra drill/glue/dowel step before giving it to anyone. When mine gets old I will happily buy another. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was the glue issue, but it is too nice to only give 3 stars. :)

Repair was easy; just a matter of sanding off the inferior glue that is used to attach the handle, and using a proper wood glue. After the 24 hour drying period, more disappointment; the Loofah is extremely hard and minimally pliable even when wet. Not the softer type that I expected. Even though the price is right, I would keep looking to find a back brush of better quality that is softer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, March 30, 2009

Sturdy scrubber. Top can come off instead of using handle, and reattaches securely. Flat handle is a little uncomfortable.

nice for the price but way too hard. more of a back scratcher. People say the head keeps falling off so i just super glued it before using it. You can tell it was poorly made. works ok.

I definitely understand the reason for some of the bad reviews on the Loofa Back Brush. I like the length and wood contruction of the handle, and the brush is a good quality. However, I have also noticed that the brush isn't too securely attached to the handle. I'm just using it normally, but the brush still seems a little loose.

The makers of this product probably know about this problem. Since there does appear to be a wooden dowel/screw through the handle and brush. It's still not quite sturdy, but good enough... At less than $7, I would give this product a try.

3.0 out of 5 stars Handle a little too short, August 12, 2011

Pretty good brush. However, handle was a little too short for my liking, as I have sore shoulders issues. Also, I would have preferred a rounded handle, which would have made it more comfortable when reaching over my shoulders. Handle kept cutting into my thumbs during use. But, overall a quality product. Would recommend.

Okay I've never had one of these before so I don't have much to compare it to but it seems to get the job done. I just use it to wash my back, the sponge itself is pretty stiff which I guess is how they're supposed to be? I can really scrub with this thing hard, but you gotta be careful because it's glued to the wood as another reviewer mentioned it can possibly fall off. However I've had it for a few months and mine's still hanging in there tough.

I was is need for a loofah with a handle. When the package arrived, it contained a loofah attached to a wooden handle. So far so good! After first use, the loofah was still in tact with the wooden handle. It offered the additional reach that I was looking for. I have the loofah, attached to a wooden handle, offering additional reach. What else can I ask for!
