Great new music on the hammered dulcimer,

Hammered dulcimer isn't what I think of when I think new music, but this collection of original compositions really works. Elman has toned down the energy on his hammered dulcimer and it gives a continually interesting sound throughout these tracks. Lots of african and oriental influences in these pieces. I like the whole cd but tracks 4,8,11, and 12 are my faves. Highly recommended.

I like playing this CD after a hard day at the office, because it always puts me in a better mood. All the tracks are winners, and I especially enjoy "Calgary Girl" and "Ferris Wheel".

These tunes are "hand-crafted" by some of the best musicians alive today and is an album to be listened to from beginning to end, over and over.
