About the Author VJ Chapman was born and grew up in Oregon, the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Western Oregon University and has taught high school English for five years. Chapman received a bachelor’s degree in Language Arts and Secondary Education and a master’s degree in Multicultural Studies. She has three children and eight grandchildren and lives in Woodburn, Oregon, with her husband of thirty-six years.
