5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational! A wonderful read for all audiences., August 30, 2005
This review is from: The Earth Was Flat: Insight Into the Ancient Practice of Sungazing (Hardcover)
Entertaining and educational filled with wit and piercing honesty. Dwinell's journal entries were filled with adventure of body mind and spirit. And his insight into our current existence was amusing, informative and heart felt. The overall concept of staring into the sun, breatharianism as well as healing and evolving was presented with a grounding and sincere voice. Overall a very impressive book that is well written and well presented. I am looking forward to his next work.

5.0 out of 5 stars about time, January 25, 2006
It is about time someone wrote a book that falls within the new age world of health and healing with some straight forward integrity. Thank you Mr. Dwinell. The stories are wonderful and raw, all the while his pure zest for life is inspiring. `The Earth Was Flat' is certainly worth the read.

It was a good book and in good condition. I am already a sun gazer. It was nice to read a journal of another's sun gazing experiences.

This review is from: The Earth Was Flat: Insight Into the Ancient Practice of Sungazing (Hardcover)
This book is absolutely mindblowing and high above the fancy 'garden and kitchen' self-help positive thinking crap. It is the real story about a scientific quest for what is possible. Scientific in the sense of own research where one analyses the results of acts rather than the way of the followers who repeat the mantra's of the officially accepted science without any critical mindset. This book has really changed my everyday life for the better, another one that I (health expert of Belgium) highly recommend is:The Healing Sun: Sunlight and Health in the 21st Century

5.0 out of 5 stars An Honest Book on the Unusual Practice of Sun Gazing, June 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is one of the few publications promoting the beneficial spiritual practice of sun gazing, yet it does not delve into other essential sun routine: sunbathing and a diet of raw fruit and vegetables both crucial to avoid any harm deriving from the clash between the goodness of the sun on one hand and the partaking of animal flesh and toxic cooked so-called food on the other.

Since sun gazing involves bonding with the solar Mind-Soul who guides, informs, comforts and sustains us Sun gazing goes beyond and above a mere a physical exercise so it is advisable to gaze in the nude and barefooted thus turning gazing into a sunbathing event as well.

The truth is that physical and emotional nourishment never stems from so-called cooked food not even from raw fruits or vegetables but from Prana: sunlight, the earth, fresh clean air from nature and the central Sun and yet this book can be used as a manual for those who are new in the path of sun derived freedom.

I will have to say here the author seems to be uncertain with his practice of sun gazing checking with eye medics to see if his eyesight is good or not, yet it is imperative to stay clear from medical people. Sun gazing, Sun bathing and a fruit raw-veggies diet should be approached with determination. I recommend this book to those who are considering the liberating practice of sun gazing, and sun bathing.
