Earth boxes and this refill product is the only way to grow tomatoes where we lived....in the hot desert of Blythe, CA. where every insect imaginabale came to live and the temperatures reached 120 degrees!

Since moving to Oregon...I still use their product. Great success.

I am getting ready to order my refill kit, and wonder why I can order off the Earthbox website for less than $10 vs this for $25?

We have tried this replant kit twice now and we also tried the organic kit. The organic did not work as well. We have 4 planters. We put the same tomatoes in 2 of them the only difference is the replant kits. the organic kit ended up producing fruit with end rot. the regular chemical one did not have that problem. So I'm all about the chemical's now. screw that organic stuff.

Just in case you don't know. If your plants develop a rash of powdery fungus and you have wilting dark leaves you should immediately pull the plant out away from your other plants. (gingerly, try not to knock the fungus off) place the plants, earthbox cover, and the top 6 inches of soil in a black garbage bag and tie it tight. leave it in the hot sun for a week or so to kill all of the fungus, then toss the bag-do not open it. Thoroughly wash the water tube. I place mine in the dish washer. 180 degrees or higher is what you want. I know it sucks having to destroy your plants but even if they look healthy they will still die and possibly fugify your other plants. None of the fruit will be good anyway. this was a bad year for fungus. The lack of intense sun affected all of us. Don't give up. Try again next year.

I can't wait to start growing my tomatoes... this product gives us bigger, better and many more tomatoes than anything else! Incredible!

The kits I received did not have the 6-8-10 fertilizer as advertised in the description. Instead they had the standard 7-7-7 fertilizer. I ordered this because the 6-8-10 might be better for vegetables than the 7-7-7. I decided to keep what I got because I don't believe the 6-8-10 is available anymore anyway.

Yes you can get fertilizer and dolomite more cheaply, but the Earthbox system is all about kits and simplicity, which I like. This kit is all you need to replant your EB.

I was happy to find that I could get a "refill" for the EarthBox. As one who definitely does NOT have a green thumb, I was surprised last year when I was able to grow a bunch of beautiful flowers on my balcony. They lasted until November. I wanted to start with the same product this year.

I have four earth boxes and have them all planted. These refill kits are just the ticket for replanting the boxes. I have one box full of flowers (annuals) that have to be replanted every year and if you follow the instructions in these kits you have great results. I planted one box full of pansies and petunias and it is absolutely awsome the flowers that I have! The fertalizer and the dolomite in the kit makes the boxes work. I have a small patio garden planted in three of the boxes. You should see my tomatoes! Some of the healthiest and strongest plants that I have ever seen. They are loaded with buds and I am looking forward to eating the fresh vegetables!! I will purchase these kits again!!

This was worth the purchase. My one little cherry tomato plant becomes this enormous beast of a plant that gives me lots of yummy, organic tomatoes that I then freeze and use year round. There is something very special about the formula sold by earthbox. You will not regret buying the refill every year.
