I bought this water bottle in my search for a non-plastic alternative. I chose it because I wanted a stainless steel bottle with no enamel on the inside (unlike the Sigg bottles), but one that was attractive and stylish (unlike most of the Klean Kanteen line). If I'm going to carry a bottle around all the time, and if I'm going to shell out this much money, I want it to be pretty.
I know some people are troubled by a metallic taste stainless steel bottles, but while I noticed one at first, I don't any longer. (I don't know whether this is because I've gotten used to it, or because the taste has gone, but I enjoy the neutral taste of the water now.)
The Earthlust customer service is also fantastic. I originally bought this bottle at the end of the summer, when they were still selling an older model. At the time, I was a little disappointed, because the design chipped and wore away quickly, and after a few months of wear, the cap stopped staying on.
When I contacted Earthlust, they immediately sent me a replacement water bottle in a newer model. I'm happy to report that the redesign is a good one. I've been hauling the new bottle around with me everywhere for the past few weeks, and it still looks brand-new, no scuffs or chipping. The redesign also corrected the problem with the cap; the design on the new bottle is much more durable.
So for those of you who are looking for a plastic alternative, I happily recommend Earthlust. It's well worth the money for an attractive and durable bottle.
