5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, great company
I bought this water bottle in my search for a non-plastic alternative. I chose it because I wanted a stainless steel bottle with no enamel on the inside (unlike the Sigg bottles), but one that was attractive and stylish (unlike most of the Klean Kanteen line). If I'm going to carry a bottle around all the time, and if I'm going to shell out this much money, I want it to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Graphic Problem, April 7, 2009

The bottle is mega-cool, which is why I bought it instead of just a plain stainless steel bottle. However, the paint peels off no matter how you wash it. The other poor review for this bottle said that the paint was flaking off from dishwashing it, which is no shock because it SAYS not to put it in the dishwasher in the instructions. I have only washed mine according to the instructions and the paint is coming off as well. I also bought the bird one and the same thing is occurring. Moral: If people are going to sell something with something cool painted on it, they should make sure the paint stays on. And they can because, just to let you know, the "Earthlust" logo which is also painted on is NOT coming off at all. Shows where their priorities are. I am tempted to scratch that part off so I won't be advertising for a crappy product. To be fair. It "works" functionally just fine. But very disappointed with the graphic coming off.

I bought this water bottle in my search for a non-plastic alternative. I chose it because I wanted a stainless steel bottle with no enamel on the inside (unlike the Sigg bottles), but one that was attractive and stylish (unlike most of the Klean Kanteen line). If I'm going to carry a bottle around all the time, and if I'm going to shell out this much money, I want it to be pretty.

I know some people are troubled by a metallic taste stainless steel bottles, but while I noticed one at first, I don't any longer. (I don't know whether this is because I've gotten used to it, or because the taste has gone, but I enjoy the neutral taste of the water now.)

The Earthlust customer service is also fantastic. I originally bought this bottle at the end of the summer, when they were still selling an older model. At the time, I was a little disappointed, because the design chipped and wore away quickly, and after a few months of wear, the cap stopped staying on.

When I contacted Earthlust, they immediately sent me a replacement water bottle in a newer model. I'm happy to report that the redesign is a good one. I've been hauling the new bottle around with me everywhere for the past few weeks, and it still looks brand-new, no scuffs or chipping. The redesign also corrected the problem with the cap; the design on the new bottle is much more durable.

So for those of you who are looking for a plastic alternative, I happily recommend Earthlust. It's well worth the money for an attractive and durable bottle.

I'm trying to avoid plastic bottles, and this lightweight, stainless steel bottle was quite sensible. Earthlust designs, however, are great! What a bonus. Eco-smart bottles with style.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but has a problem, August 2, 2009
I have had my water bottle for about 2 months now. The 13oz size is great because it is small enough that I can fit it into my small purse that I like to carry and not have to lug around a bigger bag. It is also pretty; as my mother put it, the bottle looks like it belongs at a tea party not a sporting event. However, the design began to rub off after about a month of use. I read a review elsewhere which complained of this problem, and that person had also purchased the growing tree design; hence, it could be a problem particular to this design and other EarthLust water bottles may be fine. I have found that by only using the bottle intermitantly the rubbing off is slowed. Overall, it is a great bottle in a practical size, but if you buy the growing tree design, don't expect it to last.

3.0 out of 5 stars great bottle, but..., July 27, 2009

I bought this bottle in september, and used it every weekday to bring water to work with me. The bottle is great, but the design on the bottle(I got the growing tree) rubbed off after a few months of use. I washed the bottle according to the directions, but little by little the ink rubbed off. I still use the bottle, but it is just plain white.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product, February 1, 2009

I wanted a great stainless steel water bottle that wasnt the typical sigg and kleen kanteen that everyone has. I found these beautiful ones and thought i would try them out. 1. they are super light, very nice. 2. great designs earthy, would like some more variety than just birds though. 3. The mouth opening is larger than siggs and smaller than kleen kanteens but it as this amazing lip on it that helps me drink it without spilling all over! Then only thing I dont like is the top. It doesnt screw in a quickly as i would like and thus i have dropped it in my car three times while driving and had to hold the bottle until i found it. since it is big and doesnt fit into cup holders. the water tastes great, no weird tastes. great attractive bottle, many compliments. it is different. just needs new tops.

I enjoy using the metal bottles, and giving them as gifts, for health reasons (no bpa), environmental reasons (refillable, not disposable, water bottles) and style reasons. They're attractive and fit the hand well. I'm sending them to friends, and I'm getting rave reviews.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very durable, March 23, 2009
I was really happy with this water bottle until I took it hiking. I dropped it on some rocks and now it leaks from the bottom! I didn't even drop it very far. It is really pretty and worked well for trips to the gym but I expected it to be a little more durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beauty Meets Function, September 10, 2009
Finally. Beautiful, artful, stainless steel water bottles. I love it when beauty meets function. No BPA or funky secret lining to worry about here, just non-toxic stainless. EarthLust has so many wonderful options, you won't know which one to pick. They have various sizes and designs, including small bottles appropriate for kids. I've been using mine for about two weeks--it still looks brand new and I get tons of compliments.
