5.0 out of 5 stars Earthfire: A Experential Tale of Transformation
First of all, I seldom read fiction. I read Earthfire only at the insistence and recommendation of a dear friend. I was told that I must read this book, it will change your life. So I read it. WOW. From the beginning, I was hooked! Will, Helen, Sebastian, and Maddie are now as real to me as you and I. As their story unfolds, their journey, their experience of...

3.0 out of 5 stars It has its limitations
Okay, I enjoyed the book, but it has its limitations. It is a very good book for introductory ideas regarding New Age thoughts and philosophies, but it requires a "buying into" of the concept of an "Earthfire" that it neither explains nor explores to my satisfaction. It's just there. This reminds me too much of the kind of proselytizing other mainstream religions do,...

5.0 out of 5 stars Earthfire: A Experential Tale of Transformation, March 1, 2000

As their story unfolds, their journey, their experience of the Earthfire within was masterfully written and was enough. Or so I thought. The message behind the words nagged at me. What was my Earthfire? What was my passion? Where is that mystical experience that will change my life? Is this just a great story or does it really exist? Then I experienced it. I lived it. I became it. On fire! I invite you to buy this book, buy it now! Let it sink into your soul and experience your own awakening. You'll be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the book tremendously!, June 8, 2000
This review is from: Earthfire: A Tale of Transformation (Paperback)
I was pleasently surprised by this book! The story takes you on a journey of transformation and spiritual awareness. It echoes a familiar spiritual approach that each one of us does make a difference and it gives the reader some possible scientific reasons why that is so. Robert Simmons takes a somewhat low key and very down to earth approach to metaphysics and -- if you can believe it, E.T.s! The characters wrestle with their own human frailties and challenges and develop into people that you care about, as they ultimately confront fears and situations that would challenge anyone. The book touches on several very useful techniques and thoughts that serve as a great introduction to some very esoteric concepts. It also include a very good resource list for people who would like to know more. I can recommend this book to folks who are well along the path of metaphysics, as well as people who are just beginning their explorations. I plan to buy more copies to give to friends.

What an adventure! A fun book to read that is also uplifting and inspirational! There were so many fascinating ideas to explore and such an exciting story wrapped around those ideas that I couldn't put it down! This book takes you into an exploration of consciousness and teaches you various techniques along the way. I have been on a spiritual path for over 25 years and still found interesting new thoughts in this book. This is a MUST READ book for anyone hoping that we can heal ourselves and the planet. EARTHFIRE offers us tools to do just that. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Earthfire by Robert Simmons, February 14, 2000
This review is from: Earthfire: A Tale of Transformation (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book. Illiciting both tears and laughter and a sense of connection with the characters, as it follows their path to uncovering mysteries both in the physical and spiritual realms. While a true threat to their lives by some secret agent thugs stays mostly in the background our heroes pursue the puzzles of alien abduction, near death experience, shared visions of a world transformed, and personal visions by way of the works of Rupert Sheldrake, Carl Jung, the poet Yeats, tarot cards, a channel, Holotropic breathwork and the energy of gemstones. A couple of our male seekers start out insisting that all this must bend to their educated and intellectual guidelines but are drawn into the pattern of synchronicity and then beyond what can be neatly explained. Ultimately it's the opening of the heart and their love for each other that guides them through the final crisis and it's a tale told in a beautiful way.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Earthfire - A Tale of Transformation", May 12, 2001
This review is from: Earthfire: A Tale of Transformation (Paperback)
Written as an adventure novel, Author Robert Simmons, involves us in a plot from the heart of the cosmos, to open our minds and unlock previously well-kept secrets which may reveal just what IS this body we live in, and just what MAY be the reason we are here in this world together.

"EARTHFIRE", a present day parable, carries the reader from the exterior logical life deep into psychological caverns of the mind, exploring just about every viewpoint of reality and every philosophical and theological discourse.

From "everyman's" mind could it be possible we are now located in this universe for the purpose of changing into a very high order of thinking? Could we be doing this together at this present time? Is it logical to believe we are actually helping each other make this change together? "EARTHFIRE" not only brings these issues before our eyes but educates us by the actions of the players in the plot as to HOW we individually and collectively can be doing this.

Continuing from James Redfield's "The Secret of Shamballa", Robert Simmons "EARTHFIRE" reveals useable secrets to help us know how to hold our minds, words and actions to achieve the results for a better world. Bravo Robert!! Keep up the good work.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great modern day parable, November 22, 2001

Joseph Smith (Cincinnati, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Earthfire: A Tale of Transformation (Paperback)
Robert Simmons successfully includes various forms of mysticism and divination in this tale of transformation in the lives of a group of people who are linked by fate. Robert has obviously done his research in that much of what is explained about the different aspects of mysticism is quite accurate. However some of what was revealed was embellished (a storytellers privelage)for the purpose of moving along the plot. I would not rely on this book as a means of learning anything other than the underlying theme of Good vs Evil and what we can do to peacefully overcome the ones who try to surpress our spirit.
I guess what I'm trying to say is simply this: there is a lot information many different types of mysticism thrown in with "just plain fiction" and the reader may have trouble discriminating between what they should believe and what they should take with a grain of salt.
All in all I thought it was a very good book. It's an Easy read and has a very thought invoking ending.
