Review
Great series! Can't say enough good things about any books from Crabtree Publishing. Neil Morris' "Wonders of Our World" series from Crabtree Publishing breaks down environment into specific subjects so that appropriate focus can be given in each educational book. These books will prove much more memorable than competitors on the same subject because they blend simplicity with an effort to entertain: kids will find them bright, colorful, and appealing beyond the usual school applications --

Taken from Chapter 7: Biggest Quakes Earthquakes have happened regularly throughout history. They have always done damage to buildings. Four of the famous Seven Wonders of the ancient world, for example, were destroyed by earthquakes. Worse still, quakes have claimed millions of human lives. The worst earthquake tragedy in history, in China in AD 1556, killed 830,000 people. People in the past knew little about the cause of earthquakes, which probably made these disasters even more frightening to them.
