Earth's Best For Infants

From the day they are born, infants rapidly change and grow. And so do their food preferences. That's why Earth's Best offers a wide variety of formulas, cereals, jarred food blends and juices to ensure your baby gets the wholesome and pure nutrition they need.

Earth's Best Organic 1st Fruit Starter Kit, 2.5 Ounce Jars

Earth’s Best organic first fruit starter pack contains an assortment of three unadulterated fruits--bananas, apples, and pears--perfect for babies more than four months old. After your baby develops a tolerance for infant cereal, introduce this single ingredient pureed fruits. Earth's Best makes the first foods with only the freshest organic fruits and vegetables. The variety pack is a great way to add convenience to your life--easy to shop for and simple to store. It is also packaged in a sturdy storage tray that clearly indicates each flavor. This is sold in a pack of twelve 2.5-ounce jars, 3 jars each of the different fruits.

Why Organic?

earths-best-ingredientsChoosing organic is choosing to live a healthier life. Organic foods are produced without the use of potentially harmful chemicals and synthetic pesticides or growth hormones. This is even more important when we consider infants. For four to six months following birth, infants receive most of their nutrition from breast milk or infant formula. It is so important that these formulas contain the safest ingredients.

If ingested, potential toxic chemicals or heavy metals can lead to compromised immune system development. Likewise, young infants consume disproportionately high levels of fruits and vegetables when compared to adults. This increases their risk of exposure to potential contaminants found among non-organic products. Finally, Earth's Best products do not contain genetically engineered ingredients (GEIs), made by inserting genes from one plant into a strain of another to produce more crops or control pests.

Why organic? It is better for you, your child and the environment they will grow up in.
simple and pure

As your little one grows, you'll have to make a lot of choices. With Earth's Best choosing the right food is easy. They create high quality, organic products grown by the some of the best farmers, filled with the best ingredients and tested for the highest level of purity and freshness. This message is for concerned parents....I contacted Earth's Best today, and the rep indicated that BPA free packaging in their baby food jars began in October 2011. Hope this is helpful.

Okay. Im a very cautious parent, but the fact that there is BPA in the lids doesnt affect the food or the quality of it. BPA is an element in plastics that is excess estrogen and its recently become known that its not beneficial to let it enter our bodies. However, BPA is only activated once its been heated and since you arent heating the metal lid, the BPA never enters the food. EB baby food is spectacular especially since its jar food vs frozen/fresh. There are lots of yummy flavors and your baby will probably like most of them. Both of my sons go crazy over the EB varieties and I stick by it- buying it by the case and using the amazon subscription option makes it soo much cheaper than retail! Again... dont freak out over BPA in the lids lol.

I found Earth's Best while shopping at Target and was thrilled to find USDA certified organic baby food. My son loves the apples and pears, the bananas are a little tart but I just add a little rice cereal and it's fine. I love that Amazon.com offers subscribe and save for Earth's Best and at a cheaper price than Target or Babies "R" Us. Great packing and fast delivery!

I try to make most of my son's baby food, but mainly stick with veggies. I wanted to get some good baby fruit choices and I've been really impressed with Earth's Best products. My little guy LOVES these fruits. This starter kit contains pears, apples and bananas. I love that I can get this organic variety pack delivered to my door for less than some regular baby food prices at the store. I love the subscribe and save option, because 15% is a nice discount with free Prime shipping through Amazon Mom. It's a great deal for quality food.

Earth's Best Baby Food
My favorite brand of baby food by far. Both my son (who is now over 2 years old) and my daughter (now almost one) have used a wide variety of foods from Earth's Best. I am a huge proponent of feeding children primarily organic and/or locally grown foods to promote proper nutrition and growth. But I do not feel that all organic brands are equal. I've tried many varieties (including store brands and others only available through internet purchase) and found that Earth's Best is by far the best for your money.

1st Fruit Starter Kit
If you're like me trying to decide what flavor to give your baby the first time can be difficult. I had an idea because of going through this with my son, but my daughter (as it turns out) has completely different likes and dislikes. This variety comes with pears, bananas and apples. It's pretty basic and on a whole I think most babies like all of these, but you just never know. That's why I like it in this kit. You can try them out without having to hand pick and sort through a bunch at the store. It takes the guessing out of it. Yes, the price is a little high, but if you just need something to get you started it's great!

I used to buy all the earths best products for my kids. My 18 month old loved the Elmo pasta and sauce that comes in a can. However after purchasing a case of the Elmo pasta and sauce I opened the can and found bugs! There were tiny bugs that looked like baby roaches!!! I continued to open all the cans in the case to find they all contained 2-4 bugs per can!!! I called the company and was offered coupons as a compensation. She assured me that this was an isolated Incident. I told The company to keep their coupons because I will never be purchasing their products again! Makes me wonder what their plant looks like. I am throughly disgusted that I have been feeding my 6 month old the jars of baby food. Just wanted to make others aware......

As my baby approaches the stage at which we can introduce solids to her diet, I started doing my research on organic, prepared baby foods. I was all set to make Earth's Best my brand of choice, since we already use some of their other products (e.g., baby wipes). But that was until I discovered that the covers of their glass jars contain bisphenol-A (BPA), an endocrine disruptor that can cause negative health effects, especially in vulnerable infants and young children. Apparently, Earth's Best claims that its jarred baby food has been independently-tested, and found to have undetectable levels of BPA. However, I'm still skeptical. In a "perfect lab" setting with a pristine jar of baby food, the BPA may not have had the opportunity to leach from the cover into the baby food. But in the real world, by the time that jar of baby food reaches the average consumer, it has been turned upside-down and shaken up in the process of packing, shipping, unpacking, shelving, etc. Plus, many parents warm up their baby food in the jars; and I've heard that heating can increase/speed-up the BPA leaching process. SCARY STUFF!! I don't see why Earth's Best doesn't just play it safe and line their baby food jar covers with a resin that doesn't contain BPA. It's honestly not that hard to do ... Just ask Eden Organics! The linings of many of their canned vegetables are BPA-free. Sure, it might increase the cost of the baby food by a bit, but I'm sure I speak for many parents when I say that I'd be willing to pay a little extra just for the peace of mind of knowing that there are no harmful chemicals in my baby's food. After all, we're willing to spend a bit more for organic baby food to begin with.

Earth's Best also makes baby food in BPA-free pouches. But, to be honest, the company's refusal to acknowledge and correct the problem of BPA in its jar covers has left me with a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). So I may just take my "baby-food-business" elsewhere.
