From the Author

A little From the dead... Meet Donita...

~In the Trees~

The eyes watched her and the other cows from the cover of the trees. The hunger was terrible, all consuming, and it came in crashing waves. The impulse to feed seemed to be the only coherent thought she had. It was hard to think around, hard to think past.

A few weeks ago she had been... Been? But it did no good, she could not force the memory to come. A name came, Donita... she had been Donita, she knew that, but that was all she knew. And a name was not everything she had been. She had been something else... Something more, but she could not get to whatever it was though. Something that did not wander through the woods. Something that was not driven by all consuming passions that she could not understand.

She turned her eyes up to the moon. It pulled at her. Something in it spoke directly to something inside of her. Something deep. Something she believed had always been there, but there had never been a need to address because it lived under the surface. Out of her line of thought, sight... Below her emotions... Now it didn't. Now it ruled everything. It was all she could do not to rush from the trees and find the smell that tempted her and consume it. Eat it completely. Leave nothing at all. Oh to do it... To do it...

Candace In Trouble..

She finished and had just stood back up, when she felt the cold barrel of a pistol touch her neck.

"Well look at this," a low voice said, "Ain't you something."

Candace's heart crashed hard against her ribs. She sucked in a breath, and tried to quiet her racing heart. Her voice sounded shaky to her ears as she spoke.

"What... What do you want," she managed.

"Wha... What do you want," the voice mimicked. "... What do you think that I want," he asked? One hand stroked lightly against her face. Leaving the feel of calloused fingers and the smell of unwashed flesh.

"I think you know, Missy... I think you know."
...
This series is comprised of twenty books for the main series, and an additional six to ten books that are an offshoot from the original series, the Earth's Survivors Outrunner series.

The Outrunner books follow the people who have to deal directly with the world. They don't get to stay in the Nation safe and sound. They have to go out, get supplies, deal with the un-dead and the live as well. Meanwhile the nation works on putting society back together...

Book five in this series will be out this fall 2014. The books continue to be published exclusively through Amazon as digital books...

The group finally leaves the cave and heads south. Starting out with 6 modified vehicles, they initially make great time.

The trip starts to slow down as they encounter high water and washed out roads. Their numbers increase as they pick up more survivors to join the group.. One of their own has a heart attack and dies.

Donita, one of the "undead" is gathering up some members of her own. The longer they are dead, the more aware they become!

A huge battle is fought with some old enemies as they try to get to their chosen place.

Bob, the Native-American, is the one who has chosen the spot for "The Nation"..

Quite a read especially with the numbers of the undead increasing so rapidly. Incredible turn around rate, now... Enough to make one look over their shoulder in the day time!!

Highly recommended.

I would love to rate this book higher, but there were so many grammatical errors and disparate paragraphs. I couldn't follow who was speaking and where scores of paragraphs ended.

If you enjoy end of the world with a touch of zombie, you will like. More description than conversation but I didn't think it hurt the flow of the writing.
