I have used this to seed a garden cover-crop mix, a grass seed mix, and seed oats. It has worked pretty well for those things.

A little practice with the sequence of events will give smoother results: Start walking and cranking BEFORE you open the sliding trap door that lets the seed out of the bag. Then, release the catch on the trap door and let it snap closed before you stop walking and cranking.

This tool is for right-handed cranking only and cannot be reversed for left-handed operation. The bag on my unit is red nylon. I expect to get lots of years of service from it.

Spreader works great. Seems to be of good construction and probably holds about 20-25 lbs of lime or fert. I would recommend-

This seeder is fantastic. Holding 7 pounds of seed is a great idea. Fill it up and go. I love not having to go back to the seed bag countless times only to start where I left off. This cut my time down and kept my pattern uniformed. Buy it. You won't regret it.

This is an excellent spreader, and the only poor thing about it, are the directions for setting the opening according to seed size. To set the correct opening you must pull the lever up, over, and past the stop, and then set it down. There is nothing about this in the instructions, which are written as though they were translated from an Asian language...

I bought this as replacement for a previous model. The new one was made with more plastic parts and less durable. The plastic part that controls the amount of material that is dispensed broke the very first time I used the item. Very disappointed!!!

I don't have a huge yard, but I need to spread 15 lbs of fertilizer. This bag was excellent for me. It has a stop/go control and my hands didn't get tired. I did end up hitting my legs with fertilizer, so I'll have to figure out how to correct that next time I use it.

I'm happy with this product,is easy to use ,the price its a little higher,but I was tired of buying cheap ones ,I use them a couple of times and them they break,so for me this spreader is perfect.

I have a 1/2 acre lot in Fl. And my lawn looks like a carpet because I do my own Fert, and weed control. I love this spreader. It has the best control for fert placement. It is so much better than a push type. I have had mine for about 6 years and the fabric started coming off the plastic, so I put some small self tapping screws in to hold it in. Keep in mind fert is loaded with salt and all kinds of stuff so i'm not suprised it seperated after 6 years. I will buy another one when this one totaly falls apart. Much faster than a push type. And alot less work!

Works great and arrived in a timely fashion. Seeder was very easy to use. Starting and stopping the seeder was not a problem.
