The Earthway 30-pound set-up residential broadcast spreader's large, 1050-cubic-inch hopper, can hold most 5000-square-foot bags. It features a patented "Ev-N-Spred" 3-hole drop system to ensure even fertilization. The spreader has 8-inch lug poly wheels designed to roll easily over the toughest lawns. Its high-speed gearbox allows larger spread patterns at a lower walking speed, and its flow-control is located higher on the handle for additional convenience. The spreader comes partially assembled.

This is a very good spreader for light, residential use. I have about 5,000 sq ft of lawn, and use a spreader about 3 times a year. For that type of use, this is a perfect match -- it is small, easy to store, and spreads very well. If you have more a more demanding application, you'll want to get something that is more beefier in construction.

I had a low-end Scotts spreader that lasted about 17 years. It died on me, and I wanted to replace it with something similar. This cost $15, which was $10 less than the best price I could find for a Scotts Basic model. Excellent value for the price, and it works well. The gearing is all plastic and is designed for light use. But, if light use is what you're looking for, this model will be a good choice.

If you need functional, light weight, easy to use, durable, good plastic and easy to assemble - then this is the product. I have no problems fertilising my medium size lawn 30' x 40'. It is a pleasure to use and store. BIG PLUS - it was really inexpensive. Hope that helps.

I've had it for less than a year and i just took it to the curb for gatbage pickup. the wheels fall of... bottom line dont buy this piece of crap... spend 20 more dollars and get something that lasts longer.
