Works Well, Customer Service is Excellent, Operator's Manual is Poor,

This review is from: Earthwise OPP00010 T2 10-Inch 2.2 Amp Electric String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
Out of the box, the 10" Electric String Trimmer worked very well. The Operator's Manual, however, contains imprecise instructions and diagrams that are so small as to be nearly useless. When the cutting line broke and I turned to the Operator's Manual, I found that the sections on "Spool Replacement and Recovery of Broken Line" and on "Replacing Line on Spool" were not clear: they did not identify the specific parts and the diagrams illustrating these procedures were very small. The Customer Service people promptly mailed replacement parts to me, at no charge -- high marks to them -- but the Operator's Manual is not at all helpful.Joe Baniszewski Baltimore

Product works great. Then again, once you have to advance the string, bump it on the ground they say, don't believe them. Twice I had to advance the string while using and both times I had to take the spool off and thread the string through the two holes, what a pain. The first time I bumped it on the ground to advance and nothing happened and when I looked underneath the trimmer there was still string sticking out of the holes but when I attempted to get more out by bumping nothing. The engineers at that company who made this sure made a piece of junk, I wonder how, in there right mind, they can put this garbage on the market. And if you think I am one of those who just like to put items down for the fun of it, you can go and check all my past reviews and you will see on all of them I am mainly positive, but when I see junk I will let you know, like this one.

One-time wonder,
This review is from: Earthwise OPP00010 T2 10-Inch 2.2 Amp Electric String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
This bump-feed line trimmer worked okay out of the box, but only for a short time. The bump-feed mechanism did not work. Having to stop every few minutes to extend the line manually requires painstaking disassembly and reassembly. The instruction manual is the worst I've ever seen, not even mentioning you have to remove the plastic cover on the line cutter, and don't even dream of using the manual to figure out how to install new line. The instructions in the manual are totally unclear and even create confusion. And the diagrams in the manual are low-res line drawings no bigger than a postage stamp. The price was good, but not worth the trouble. I'll probably dump it and get a real tool.

Manual is useless.,
This review is from: Earthwise OPP00010 T2 10-Inch 2.2 Amp Electric String Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
This was my first trimmer, so I bought cheap just to find out what it was all about. However, as noted by another reviewer, the instruction manual is absolutely useless. I'm sure they never watched anyone try to use the instruction manual. Anyway, I ended up taking it back to the local OSH to have one of their staff finish the assembly (i.e., how to attach the string holder). He was successful, after about 10 minutes of experimentation. When I got home and tried it out, it worked on a patch of overgrowth, but I still can't figure out how to extend the string. I'll probably have to call their tech support or search online forums.
