Brian Keene, one of horror's bestselling writers delivers yet another masterpiece. Many will know Keene as the author of "The Rising" and its sequel zombie hit "City Of The Dead". With "Earthworm Gods" and many of his other works Keene makes it clear that he can write more than just zombie novels. Not to take anything away from those, as they were both masterpieces.
In "Earthworm Gods", Keene again brings us into a post-apocalyptic world of death and danger. This time however, the dead are not rising from the grave. One day it starts raining and never stops. With this backdrop we are taken on a roller coaster spanning from the mountain tops of West Virginia to the rooftops of Baltimore. Our main character is Teddy Garnett, an elderly widower trapped in his home on a mountain in West Virginia, thinking he is the only survivor of his community. Teddy soon finds he's not alone. There are still things living in the wet mountain top hollows. Lucky for Teddy one happens to be a friend. The others have been driven to the surface by the rains. Things that aren't meant for the daylight, but for the deep dark bowels of the Earth. Soon he and a rag-tag group of survivors are locked in a desperate struggle for their lives.
BRIAN KEENE is the author of over thirty books, including Darkness on the Edge of Town, Dead Sea, Urban Gothic, Ghoul and The Rising. He has also collaborated on novels with J.F. Gonzalez and Nick Mamatas. He also writes comic books such as The Last Zombie, Doom Patrol and Dead of Night: Devil Slayer. His work has been translated into German, Spanish, Polish, Italian, French and Taiwanese. Two of his works -- Ghoul and The Ties That Bind -- have been adapted for film. Keene's work has been praised in such diverse places as The New York Times, The History Channel, The Howard Stern Show, CNN.com, Publisher's Weekly, Fangoria, and Rue Morgue Magazine.
