5.0 out of 5 stars WE LOVE THESE SONGS, December 8, 2001

Okay - I admit that I thought the songs were obnoxious the first time I heard them. But my kids kept wanting to hear them over and over and now we ALL love them. What a super way to teach young kids some aspects of earth science that are not usually found in songs. In fact, on a trip to a national park in Washington state we were all singing "Banana slug" and then we actually saw one! Our schools could only wish they could make science so engaging!

4.0 out of 5 stars at least 3 good songs, January 16, 2001
By
Bob Jenkins (Foster City, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Earthy Tunes (Audio CD)
She does very good performances of "Kookaburra lives in the old country" and "Inch by inch, row by row". My 2-year old has memorized Kookaburra. "It's a very good day for ..." is also good. I haven't heard Kookaburra recorded anywhere else. Peter Paul & Mary did Inch by Inch too, but I like this rendition better than PP&M's. The other songs we mostly skip over, but 3 good songs is pretty good for any CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable, fun songs that make my kids think!, August 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Earthy Tunes (Audio CD)
My kids (2 and 5) and I LOVE this CD! The songs are all silly and funny, yet are very educational. Mary has such a beautiful melodic voice and her goofy lyrics funny sound effects always make my kids laugh. The songs are thought provoking like "Dirt You Made My Lunch" -- about thanking the soil for all the things that go into a sandwhich that she is about to eat. Gets kids thinking. This is a wonderful, educational and welcomed alternative to other innane, annoying or patronizingly simple music I've previously purchased for my kids (i.e., Gymboree, Disney Soundtrack, etc.).
