4.0 out of 5 stars Review of a Marvelous Book
I thought East Side Story was an enthralling masterpiece. The author gives astonishing details about life in the early 1900's. When she describes the working conditions in the factory, you can see the supervisor shoving Rachel into a crate. The book had a remarkable storyline telling what events Rachel experienced. Because it was realistic, a reader can relate to Rachel's...

3.0 out of 5 stars Dont Read This book you wont like It
I found East Side Story to be uneventful. I don't think there was enough action in the story there should have been more picketing. For example, I wish the ally scene would have been longer.

I needed more info about the characters. I wanted to know more about Amelia. In conclusion; I think this book was kind of slow. I think it would have been better if there...

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book to read !, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
I think that East Side Story was remarkable. The description made me picture the early 1900's. You never know what is going to happen next for example when Leah got fired. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were realistic. I liked this book, But it needs more details in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great book to read!, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
East Side Story was astonishing because some of the parts were shocking, like when Leah got arrested during the strike. The story had an unexpected ending because Antonio was going to leave his friend and go to Brooklyn. Also, it was surprising when Rachel stood up for herself to her father about peddling. Another exciting event was when the bullies tried to rob Rachel. Because of these reasons, the story got my attention and kept me wanting to read more.

1.0 out of 5 stars predictable!!!!!!!, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
I think that East Side Story was way too predictable! It was so obvious that Leah was going to be part of the Union. Also, I knew that Rachel would invite Antonio to Friday night Sabbath, The part in the ally with the bullies was expected. In conclusion, I knew what was going to happen throughout the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars East Side Story, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
I found East Side Story uneventful. This is because there was not enough action. There was only one strike. I wanted to know more about strikes. Also Leah got arrested and the next day she was out of jail. This is why I concluded it was uneventful.

East Side Story

In my opinion, I found East Side Story exciting. Here are three examples of why I think East Side Story is exciting: First, when Rachel and Antonio became friends because Antonio us to be her bull. And now he stud up for her; next when Rachel stood up for herself and last ,Recheldoes not stand up for slef that much. but not least, when Rachel and Antonio found a dog named Sabahka. If you want to know who Sabahka is than read East Side Story!!!

A Kid's Review
The East Side Story was suspenseful, because it had a lot of action. For example, when Rachel

saw Leah hiding papers for a strike at the factory. Also when Leah got arrested in the

strike at the Shirt Waste Factory . The story had a very good story line because it show how life was being an immigrant.

In my opinion, the story was very good. I recommend this book to someone who likes reading about history.

4.0 out of 5 stars East Side Story Review, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
East Side Story

I found East Side Story eventful. When Rachel was taken against her will and stuffed in a crate, I could not stop reading. When Leah was arrested and taken to jail, it made you seem like you were actually there looking at her go.

Also when Rachel got caught in the alley with the bullies who wanted her food, you couldn't predict what would happen next, so you had to keep reading. In conclusion, this book keeps you on the edge of your chair.

5.0 out of 5 stars East Side Story, December 21, 2006
A Kid's Review
East Side Story

In my opinion, I thought the East Side Story was predictable, but it was still intriguing !

I t gave a lot of details about the Shirtwaist Factory. It was obvious what was going to happen next because it gave a lot of supporting details.

I read ahead a lot because it is such a good book and you could finish it in a day. Besides it's a real story about a family immigrating to the U.S. I think you would really like this book because I could never stop reading the book. The book had a lot of adventurous moments and some sad moments. This is why I think you would LOVE this book.
