This is a great sampler CD from the now-defunct indie label East Side Digital. The label was a welcome spark of light in the often dreary 90's music scene. 18 tracks of Roots Rock, Power Pop, Nouveau Country, and Americana. Artists include Cheri Knight, Bottle Rockets, Terry Anderson, Peter Blegvad, Bill Lloyd, Blood Oranges, Eric Ambel, and The Yayhoos. Many of the tracks on this 1996 compilation are rare or unreleased. NOT to be confused with the OTHER East Side Story collection, which is an oldies series.

Sad but true this classic oldies cd will never be the same since it has been changed. This cd was one of the most chingon cd's of the (East Side Story) collection until it was drasticly changed such as other volumes of the (East Side Story) collection but even so this cd is still to be a hit cd for it has many new songs on it witch are not the same thats why I gave it a 4 not 5 stars but they are just as firme as if this was the original volume. It has many hard to find songs such as one of my favorites (Jealous) by (Little Royal) (Mr Dj) by (Van McCoy) even (Greetings) and other chingon hits. Although some of these songs may not be so rare you still get the good variety of those killer golden oldies I personally remember. They may have not been played on the radio for years but they still have meaning when you play these songs or any songs on the 12 complete volumes that (East Side Story) collection has. This cd may have been changed all the way but they still made up for what is missing and put to gether this firme hit cd. True not as firme as the first cd that was ever made but we must give them credit for trying for these are still chingon songs that will be remembered always if you buy this volume or the box set 1-12 if you are a true oldies lover this is the cd for you!!! also I recamend volumes 6,4 and 2. Get the whole collection and you will be satisfied to!!!
