An EXTRAORDINARY work on sports and New York City History, August 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: East Side West Side: Tales of New York Sporting Life, 1910-1960 (Hardcover)
I read "The Glory of their Times" when I was 10 and have never forgotten it. What a read and what a joy it was to find this new work! Ritter tells you not only where Ebbetts field or the Polo Grounds were but he tells you which outfield wall paralleled which street! Learn about Babe Ruth's New York, Lou Gehrig's New York and a whole host of other places which served to make New York the unique city that it is!

Great Book, June 27, 2005
This review is from: East Side West Side: Tales of New York Sporting Life, 1910-1960 (Hardcover)
Tales of New York Sporting Life 1910 thru 1960 is one of the best books I have ever seen. I actually bought two of them in a store. It truly is a super book, which gives you great info on what the sporting life was about in the years mentioned above, which are so beautifully illustrated in color and also black and white pages. I love this book, its a great collectible to pass on to your grandchildren.
