This album (and band) has received so much hype, mostly from their faithful following of smb and latterman fans, but i am not sure that it lives up to album of the year...or even close. it has its good parts but i found no great parts. maybe it is my west coast mentality. i love cursive (one band these guys have been compared to) but see a weaker, less passionate version...at least in this album. no high points. sorry.

They are obviously talented and have a great future, but even with that said, this album itself is amazing. There are no songs that I skip - no whining pop-esque crap to be found here. This music is layered and grows on you the more you listen. I have had it in rotation in my car for the past 4 months, and it keeps getting better. I would compare the band favorably to Small Brown Bike and Hot Water Music, so if you are into those bands, you'll probably like Bridge and Tunnel. I look forward to many more great albums from this bunch.
