So then I thought "Okay maybe I didn't insert enough notes" So I double checked, triple checked, and even rewrote the song just to make sure and I still didn't work.

I did see some other complaints involving installation failures, as well as respondents who claimed they were sent new discs that fixed the problem.

The promise is thrilling--a choir sings your very own words. The demos sound wonderful. Their other libraries sound great too.

So what's wrong with this solution?

I ordered an iLok key plus 3 East/West libraries (for Mac), received them, and attempted to install them. Each time I got an "installation failure". I tried installing to a different disc. Same thing. I tried installing to a brand new computer which also exceeded the necessary system requirements. Same thing. Same with all three libraries. So I tried calling the support number that was in my documentation. After the initial prompts I reached the support line and was asked to leave a voicemail. When I tried a voice came on and said "that mailbox is full, goodbye" and I was promptly disconnected.

I went to the website and was able to open a support ticket and received a verification email that the request was received, and that it would be reviewed and responded to. So far it's been a week and I have no response. It looks like I will have to dispute the charge with American Express whose card I used to pay the purchase price of several hundred dollars.

Thinking this was an unlikely way for a company to treat customers, I decided to go online to see if others had faced the same situation. I was horrified. In the forums of popular web site GearSlutz.com I found descriptions (with credible proof) of how the company's own employees acted as shills on forums trying to dispel the image of terrible customer service and furious customers. There were plenty of irate comments from customers wronged. I did see some other complaints involving installation failures, as well as respondents who claimed they were sent new discs that fixed the problem.

When I read about a virtual choir that would "sing" anything you typed in I thought it would be a great add on for my other voice synthesizer. However what I got was a blotted program that caused more headache than results. For me install and registering was just fine. Heck even the word builder works perfect. So at first I was thinking "Maybe people were just blowing steam over how long it took to install or something" (I won't lie it did take away for it all to install) Anyways What I quickly discovered was that I needed another object in order to use this product. However I went online and did some digging and found that if I used an MFX shell I could get around needing to buy an iLok or what ever it was called. So I installed that and got it to boot up into the DAW. I thought to myself at this point "Okay small bump nothing to terrible". And started to play around. Eventually I figured out how the basics worked and started even working on a few songs. However what I noticed was that the longer the song got the less in syn it would stay and just begin to throw in random sounds even when I used the "reset position" button. At first I thought "Okay maybe it is just my computer is getting to hot or that it just needs a break after all it is a 30GB program and that can take a lot out of a processor." So I saved my work and let it rest for an hour or two before getting back on and reloading. Did it work? NOPE! It still continued to make obvious mistakes. So then I thought "Okay maybe I didn't insert enough notes" So I double checked, triple checked, and even rewrote the song just to make sure and I still didn't work. By now I was getting a frustrated but decided I would try to work with the program and cut down the size so that it could handle it.Read more ›

I love this library, and have been using it for years. However, every time I get a new computer or have to reinstall the software, I have to go through the hell of licensing, which almost always occupies several hours. It's a Christmas miracle once you get it to actually operate, but otherwise I would recommend avoiding anything with this iLok business. It's just a horrible step that comes between musicians and their deadlines, and it truly is the last thing you need to deal with under pressure.

I really, really wanted this to work. But after spending countless hours on it and even buying a new computer, I accepted defeat. It was a total loss. I'm surprised that amazon is involved with this outfit. Sweetwater seems to have discontinued carrying the product.

I have done everything possible to try and make this work, including building the ultimate computer, and spending months of back and forth with EW tech support. They finally gave up and I'm on my own. They never suggested anything I couldn't figure out myself anyway. I don't think they hire knowledgable people for tech support, and they're slower than a turtle to answer anyway. Whether it's 32 bit or 64, there is always a problem, missing files, or word builder doesn't work. Waste your money if you like but don't come crying back here and say you weren't warned.

This program is the dream come true for all composers who dont have access to a choir (or orchestra in the case of the other products).

Lets first talk about some myths regarding this :

1 - YOU CANT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE CHOIR SINGS - **FALSE** The choir is as good as YOU are to program the texts. Some elemental people think you just write a text in simple english and thats it, that should perform the exact same thing you typed, and since the result is not realistic, then the software is garbage and a scam.
A - First rule for ANY software to recreate lyrics (like Vocaloid also) : YOU HAVE TO EXPERIMENT. Find which sounds represent better the one you are trying to recreate. This is even used for real choirs (any director who never made his choir sing Kloria to make it faster and best marked, should go back to school). You can change volume of each vocal, consonants. You can use another, to better represent the SOUND you try to ACHIEVE.
The program does not recreate all sounds in the same way in all the registry. For higher notes, a G doesnt sound the same as a G in low registry, and not the same in each voice, its different for SOP, ALT, TEN, and BASS.

The only thing Im not happy is the LATIN sounds. R are too "english", same with the S, the LL and other consonants unexistant in english.

2 - THE INSTALATION DOESNT WORK/ITS TOO DIFFICULT - **FALSE** : I had also problems installing this program. But nothing to have to cry about. Its no different to any other program I installed before.
If you READ THE INSTALLATION GUIDE FIRST, you will know you just install the FIRST cd, and the rest is DRAG/DROP the database files.
