Great final season to this amazingly funny show. You have to like Danny McBride's style of humor and excessive language, and by season 4 you're either in or out. Kenny Powers has a really good arc in this season. He starts from the bottom, goes to the top, then back down again. The show has always been at its best when it shows Kenny's antics paired with the normal folk in his life, like his family and sidekick Stevie. After going light on this in seasons 2 and 3, they double down and frame the whole fourth season on this.

Season 4 is as good as season 1. Glad to see the show back to form. It was never bad, but it ended as well as it began.

Kenny Powers is an acquired taste. I imagine there are a lot of people that could not make it through all four seasons. At first he is shocking and the absurdity of it all is quite funny. But as the series progresses it really is more of a dramedy than a comedy. Kenny is almost unbearable in his treatment of everyone around him. But the writers are smart enough to leave just a smattering of humanity in him and it makes the viewer keep watching to see if this ego on steroids will realize the treasure he already has or if in his quest for fame and fortune he will pour gasoline on himself and light himself on fire. The show is an absurd character study that is unpredictable and compelling. Danny McBride might never get a bigger or better role. He steals the show.

The first season may have been one of the funniest shows I ever watched. Even the second season was very good. Once Stevie was seen in a Geisha outfit in Ashley Schaeffer' plantation, the comedy plunged. Everything had a tone of drama. Season 3 I would rate 4 out of 5, but this season (4), is just terrible. There are a few points that were funny like how Kenny and Stevie said fixings and I know someone will tell me I don't get the humor. That is wrong, I have a very dark sense of humor, I just can tell when a show is being forced and the sense of humor has run out of the writers.

I love all the seasons of EB&D but season 4 was pretty hilarious. You do not get much better than this.

A great show that is painful to watch. Danny McBride is a comic genius and proves it as his performance as Kenny Powers. Powers is a washed-up relief pitcher who arrogance is matched only by his ability to screw up chances at success. The painful part of watching this is even though Powers is a douche, you still pull for him to succeed and do well. However, Powers always finds a way to throw his chances back in the face of those giving them to him. Still, it's one of the best shows HBO has done, and it sucks that there's only four seasons.
