I bought this for my kids for easter but they were so cute that I decided to let them open it early to get into the spirit of the holiday. They were so excited to watch these eggs hatch! And the toys inside are so cute. My kids just love them. What a fun activity for little ones to do - both my 5 year old and seven year old were into these which is a bonus because they usually like very different things. It's nice to find something that they can share in together. I definitely recommend this toy!

My daughter (4 yrs.) was very excited for these and has been enjoying the critters that "hatched" out of them. However, it says they will hatch in 6-12 hours on the directions and it took much longer (3-5 days). I would buy them again though- I just wish they would change the directions on the packaging to accurately reflect how long it may take. I did as other reviewers said and changed the water daily.

My 3 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed this and I enjoyed us having a little "project" to do together. She called them her "babies" and loved to pull the chair over to check on them.
I didn't mind that it took longer to "hatch" than the 6-12 hours on the box, because it gave us something to look forward to every morning and every evening for a few days, to see how much progress was occurring.
Ours did arrive with a dent in 2 of the eggs. In the process of getting them out of the package, the dent became a hole in 1 of them, and we could see the animal inside.
I'd say within 24 hours we had some pretty good cracking occurring. We could have helped the eggs hatched then, but we decided to wait, and the next day they had even more cracks and even an animal poking through one of the eggs. We decided to help them hatch about 2 1/2 days after we put them in the water.
My daughter loved helping me change the water each day. She got her watering can and poured the water on the eggs to help them grow. The package doesn't say anything about changing the water daily (until the eggs hatched) but I knew to b/c I had read some reviews here.
She enjoyed peeling the eggs to get the animals out. The animals were slippery, but that would be just like a newly hatched chicken. We washed them off, put them back in fresh water, and left them another day or so. I measured them, and they did grow from about 2 inches to 3 inches when we took them out.
They are cute little animals. Not sure what they are made out of?? Rubber? Paper? I just took them out of the water tonight, so maybe I can tell more after they dry.
My daughter has egg allergies, so it was nice to be able to do an Easter Egg project with her without worrying about her being allergic. I'm going to try to add some pictures.

My daughter enjoyed receiving these in her basket. They get as large as you let them. We moved ours from a bowl to a jar and then a crock pot bowl and they got HUGE. We had to help a little bit with moving hte process along, some took much longer to crack than others.

THE BOYS WERE VERY ANXIOUS TO MAKE THEM HATCH. THEY WERE EXCITED TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. THEY WERE ONE OF THEIR FAVORITE THINGS THEY GOT FOR EASTER. THERE WAS SO MUCH JOY AND SMILES IN THE ROOM THAT IT WAS CONTAGIOUS FOR ALL OF US. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM AFTER THEY HATCH.

Not a great choice, two of the eggs were slightly cracked so my grandkids could see what was inside, followed the directions and after 2 days we had to crack the eggs ourselves

I sent these to my grandkids. They did not work. A couple were already cracked when received. Followed directions but they did not open so they cracked them opened. They said were nasty inside!!! Very disappointed!!

This was a great concept, so I ordered one box for my toddler daughter. She was patient and waited a couple of days for these eggs to hatch, but only one did. We finally broke the others open, OK, still fun, but pee-u! They smell toxic, like a strong petroleum/lighter fluid kind of odor. We scrubbed them, rinsed them, let them dry out, but they still stunk! We threw them out.
