5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just A Small Step But An Entire Leap Over A Continent.
I really wanted to punch some holes in this CD considering these guys owe me $237.58, but... this is a great album.

Gingersol have assembled a crack group of musicians to complete their latest entry (with a stunning performance by Sid Jordan of Minibar on "Blink.") While the entire CD clocks in at over 50 minutes, the time flies by with each song bettering the next...

1.0 out of 5 stars Godawful
Imagine the vocal stylings of Dinosaur Jr. and Ween mixed in a blender, only weaker and with no conviction. Now imagine run-of-the-mill musicianship recorded in someone's bedroom with cheap mics and a shipping blanket for an isolation booth. A bunch of songs with a timid intros, slacker synth parts, meandering verses and lyrics, a so-so hook for the chorus, one or two...

I really wanted to punch some holes in this CD considering these guys owe me $237.58, but... this is a great album.

Gingersol have assembled a crack group of musicians to complete their latest entry (with a stunning performance by Sid Jordan of Minibar on "Blink.") While the entire CD clocks in at over 50 minutes, the time flies by with each song bettering the next. The production is first rate. I had some of my audiophile buddies over for a listen and the comments ranged from, "That tambourine sure is up the middle," to, "Must be Mr. Rothschild's Opus." There are plenty of goodies swirling around the headphones on this one.

There's one tune in particular that stands out that I must comment on, "You and Your Clouds." Steve has once again written the most pristine, unbelievable song here that will make you break down, weeping in joy. Next to "Over the Handlebars," a buried gem off their last album, this is the best to come from this guy.

With this CD, I'm now ready for summer.

A bunch of songs with a timid intros, slacker synth parts, meandering verses and lyrics, a so-so hook for the chorus, one or two interesting chord changes along the way, and you've got Gingersol.

These songs might not be half-bad if executed competently. I tried several times to listen to the thing all the way through and never made it.
