I'm a veteran angler who always fishes with a spin cast reel. It's the easiest and most hassle-free way for me to fish. I like to keep it simple. While all the trout fishermen are using fly rods and wearing waders while standing out in the middle of the Clinton River at Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills, MI and River Bends Park in Shelby Township, and in Paint Creek in Rochester, I'm standing on the shore with my spin cast reel and using either nightcrawlers, salmon eggs, spoons, spinners, or fly lures. And guess what? I'm catching lots of rainbow trout (steelhead) and brown trout, all with basic equipment, nothing fancy. For trout fishing, when it comes to artificial bait, my top choice is the fly lure. The lures that come in this set do the job nicely. Trout love them. Don't be afraid to use them on a spin cast reel.
