The Eastern Woodland American Indians The Eastern Woodland Indian Powwow is a (DVD) which shows the cultural heritage of Eastern American Indians. The powwows shown in this video are held in North Carolina and Virginia. This video displays the types of powwows held in these states.

The tribes focused on in this video are the: Cherokee, Tuscarora, Chickahominy, Coharie, Haliwa-Saponi, Lumbee, Meherrin, and the Waccamaw-Siouan. This is an educational and cultural presentation of the various aspects of a powwow. This video shows the heritage with dancing, singing, and the display of beautiful Indian arts and crafts. Dancers in authentic regalia perform traditional and contemporary dances which include: Men's Traditional, Women's Traditional, Fancy Dance, Shawl Dance, Grass Dance, Straight Dance, the Sneak Up Dance, and More!

This video - THE EASTERN WOODLAND INDIAN POWWOW - is excellent for students. They will enjoy watching the dancers as they dance to the rhythm of the sacred drum. This video is highly recommended by Indian Educators of various communities in the United States. It is a valuable teaching tool for all who are interested in American History and Culture.
