There is a very favorable review of this book in the Dec 1999/Jan 2000 issue of Civilization magazine by John Davis, a professor of art history at Smith College. Here is a quote: "The book's color plates are notably sensitive to the dim, low tonality of Johnson's work, some of which is here reproduced for the first time." I plan to buy the book on the strength of this review.
