Not Just for Deep Frying,

Frankly, I have no intention of deep frying a turkey. I'm sure deep fried turkey tastes great, but it's a fairly dangerous process. I'll continue to brine and slow roast my turkey.So why did I buy this? Well, I have an electric stove, and you just can't get a wok hot enough to do real stir frying. (It's more like stir braising on the electric stove.) The base of this baby is my outdoor stove replacement. A wok fits perfectly in the cradle of the base. Besides getting a nice wok base, I gained a really big stainless steel pot, and a nice thermometer, which made stewing tomatoes in preperation for canning easier. So you don't have to want to deep fry a turkey to buy this baby. It's not a one-trick pony.

this fryer looks like it can do the job i need and it is sturdy because it is made of stainless steel
