I have had a bad experience with this type of device years previous, but this one is exactly as offered. Simply suck up your mix of marinade into the injector and then inject it into the meat in several places (and watch the meat swell up). Very easy to clean and even easier to use.

No, it is not a fancy plastic baster that had a needle added as an afterthought to call it an injector; it is not a ten bucks plastic barreled injector that is sold everywhere either - mine has cracked its barrel on the third use.It is stainless all over except teflon ring seal in the piston well made piece of equipment. It does not leak marinade around the stem, it does not leak around the needle, the needle itself is wide enough to handle marinades with grated pepper, AND said needle opens on the sides, so you can insert it without being afraid to plug the tip like on the cheap "consumer gourmet" needles that open in front. It is also much safer because in actually is pretty dull and will never poke YOU unlike the front-opened needles that have to be razor-sharp. Greedy (myself included) pays twice. After my Cajun Injector Deluxe Marinade Injectordied on from a crack on a third use (and had trouble with Italian dressing as an injecting solution on a second), I paid my dues and never looked back.

I have had the unit for about 3 weeks now. It is built pretty solid and works as advertised. I've used it to inject a few chickens and some roasts. Only thing is, and this really has nothing to do with this particular item itself, but it takes some time and work to actually inject enough marinade and to do it properly. I'm not sure if it is worth the time, but it may just be I don't know how to really do it.
