Size: 32/22 Verified Purchase
Just after 45 days of purchase this bat is now banned for Babe Ruth League. The bat has been banned for failure of the BESR-ABI test, two different tests. The BESR is passes and that's annotated all over EASTON's marketing and resellers pages. There is no mention that this bat does not pass the ABI test, it not approved for NHFS or NCAA play. Now the younger leagues are following the same practice. All composite bats are banned unless they pass the additional ABI test. Here is a link to the bats approved.

This is why you are now seeing $400 bats selling for $89 like directly from Rawlings. 5150 Composite Bat, Only 89.99. Was 399.99

DO NOT BUY!!!
EASTON's summarized response to my inquiry - These bats are still allowed to be used in some leagues and therefore will not offer any refund or recall as there is nothing wrong with the bats. At least Rawlings will advertise the bats are not approved for NFHS/NCAA play. There was no warning or notice from Easton and they should notify consumers that this bat might be banned in certain leagues. Do the right thing instead of blindly leading consumers to purchase your product. So don't waste your money with this bat or any Easton composite bat unless you are positive you can use the bat. If within 30 days might be able to return to Amazon. The self help return tells me I can not return it. Amazon, the advertising should clearly state this bat is not approved. I bought this bat to help adjust to the change of big barrel bat from 12U to 13U during the Fall season and to have it 'broke in' for the 2011 Spring season. What a waste, $300 down the drain.

If it wasn't banned I would recommend this bat. It's light and an easy adjustment from moving up from 2 1/4 barrel bat.

Check with your league. Our rec banned 2 3/4 but 2 5/8 are legal. Travel ball still plays with 2 3/4.
