This is an excellent initiation to writing Arabic script. It is concise yet comprehensive. What it is not is a source of vocabulary nor of grammar. If you want to learn how to read printed Arabic and learn Arabic handwriting, I recommend you begin with this book. You may not even need a second.

This is an excellent guide for learning how to write in Arabic script. It is a short book which skips on most other elements of the language. However, this short (and thus encouraging) book covers the two prevalent forms of Arabic script - naskh and ruq'a, typeset and handwritten forms respectively. All 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet are covered, along with a pronunciation guide and numbers 1 through 10 (which is appropriate given the focus on simply writing/reading).

The guides are very detailed and obvious, giving clear examples of not only what the letters look like, but also how to effectively write them (i.e. where to start, finish, and lift your pen). There is practice space in the book to both trace examples and then practice on your own; however, it is probably a good idea to have your own paper and access to a photocopier if you wish to trace the more complicated symbols more than a couple times.

Presented in a compact and well organized form this book provides an excellent way to learn to read and write Arabic script. I'd highly recommend it for anyone that is looking to polish their skills or learn from scratch. And with practical examples and further practice guides this book will take you well beyond simply writing out the alphabet and numbers.

I am a novice student of a variety of languages, but enjoy getting some familiarity with each. In particular, I think Arabic script is quite beautiful and as everyone knows the language is complex, rich and difficult to learn to write.

This book systematically goes through the steps to learn Arabic script in a very painless way. It doesn't cover grammar, vocabulary or any other dimensions of the language. However, it will have you writing the characters correctly in no time.

I looked at a number of books on this topic and for the money this is a great bet. I don't think you will be disappointed with this book.

If you are interested in learning Arabic, I will suggest you start with this book hands down. This will teach you everything you need to know about writing the script. most books will show you how to write it as it is typed on the computer. but this book will show you how native writers actually hand write it, for speed. So far the best book I have come across. Highly recommended.

I skimmed this last night while in bed in preparation for formal Arabic classes and I
couldnt be more pleased. Previously I skimmed Hippocrenes Arabic and was completely overwhelmed. However this is a very friendly introduction. The authors hold your hand and explain everything clearly. Highly recommended.

This book was extremely helpful. It is concise, and very easy to follow. My daughter is using it as a precursor to a formal college course. She has found it very useful. We reviewed a few, and this is hands down the best we found.

This is the greatest first step I could have made to learn writing in Arabic.

"Easy Arabic Script" was so much helpful not only in teaching me write in colloquial arabic but as well in reading handwritten texts. Everything seemed so easy after having completed this book and even my teacher was surprised with the improvement such a book may help students make.

Recommended to anyone who wishes to learn write and read Arabic.
Having purchased three books teaching calligraphy -"the Arabic alphabet" and "Write it in Arabic" - I would say this is by far the best one of its kind.

Before I got this book I tryed about 5 others. The language seemed so difficult - I was about to quit. I got the "Easy arabic scrip" few days ago (i'm on page 21 right now) and I am already able to read most of words!! It's just fantastic!!! Perfect book for beginers!!!
