Kindergarten-Grade 2-This collection of approximately 100 paper crafts is designed to be used in a classroom at a self-directed art station. Each spread lists the materials needed in a brief, easy-to-read, "Get it!" list; "Make it!" gives easy-to-follow illustrated steps for completing the project. The emphasis is on emergent readers being able to visualize how to make the craft with little or no adult help. The projects vary widely from making puppets to painted, papier-mch bowls to door signs to jewelry to musical instruments, and more. This book will give teachers ideas for enlivening their art and music curriculum. Children, however, may be disappointed that the pictures are all in black and white.
