Our family has many books on living green and the environment. This one is a great little find! Perfect book for summer reading/activities, or to take on vacation.

The book starts with a few pages on global warming and how our planet is changing. It explains WHAT a carbon footprint is and WHY it is important to make changes. It gives them ideas on what THEY CAN DO - from recycling to composting to "finding their voice" by writing to politicians and talking to people about the problems and solutions. There are short sections on endangered animals, trash & landfills, recycling, composting and green cleaning products. Included in each section are fun activities, puzzles, word searches. It's JUST enough information to give kids (I'd say appropriate for ages 4-12). Even if you have other books - this is WORTH adding to your home library!

It's even printed on 100% recycled materials with vegetable-based inks!

We purchased this book to help teach our kids about Earth Day and why it's important to help Save the Earth! Our boys (ages 2 & 4) loved the pictures and were inspired to help us collect the newspapers, bottles, and cans after reading and at least for a little while learned to stop running water while brushing their teeth!
