5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice book for beaded knitting, January 11, 2007
By
This review is from: Easy Beaded Knits (Paperback)
I got this book after Christmas at a bargain price; very good book and especially at this low price that I have gotten it. One project I particularly like is the Christmas red sequinned flapper bag which I want to make. There are a total of 7 designs for bags, one for an interesting belt, one slanted sequined scarf, a very nice snuggly collar and cuffs which I also want to make, a beaded float skirt, a very nice soft shrug with a lace design, a beautiful bolster pillow and a nice square pillow the summer throw is well, not to my taste but one can use the instructions for the flowers (pansies) for a different throw or with a better color selection. The jeweled scented sachets are beautiful and there is a design for a circular suede pillow which gives me an idea for some suede yarn that I have lying around for some years.

2.0 out of 5 stars not for me, February 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Easy Beaded Knits (Paperback)
I purchased this book, used, at a low price. It has one or two projects that one could make for some specific purpose ... but most projects are for items which are not particularly useful and would end up at the back of the closet waiting to be given to charity. The book is very well produced, very nice photographs, and the introduction section is good, but if you are someone looking for heirloom classical knitted items, then this book is not for you. If I do use this book, I will be redesigning every project to suit my tastes. It can be used that way.

2.0 out of 5 stars Yikes, June 28, 2008

Oh deary me. These projects are really, really awful. I'll make an exception for the red spangled "flapper" purse (it's not, by the way, flapper era, it belongs to the go-go girl of the early sixties), which is flirtatious and cute for a teen/college girl. Otherwise these are just about the saddest, homeliest things I've ever seen--and I can even get a kick out of 50's knitting leaflets. I'm really sorry to say it, because I can only imagine how much work goes into producing a knitting book. By the way, I didn't look at the instructions because I was so horrified by the projects, so have no comment on them.
